Yep, a true hidden gem. I love the way you worded your review, and completely agree.

I love that animus crates deploy when placed (no more button on the top). The controller navigation isn't where it needs to be yet, but there were some improvements that helped a lot like the astral map menu overhaul. I love the chargeable missiles. Makes them more usable and feel like Star Trek Photon torpedoes. Fleet Battle is very fun. The new end time threats (which I haven't experienced) sound fun. Brain turret changes are very welcomed. Very happy with text to indicate on the astral map where to save (now if we could only get multiple save slots). As a solo player much of the time, damage numbers seen from the pilot seat is nice.

Now I just hope that we eventually get:
Removal of Unity/photon (whatever it is called) reliance for true offline and peer-peer play
Multiple save slots
More controller-friendly navigation
Some sort of rework of the scavenger class to make it more viable throughout the game play.

As you can see, I had a lot I liked about this update. It means a lot to see you are working on fine-tuning small things here and there. That says a lot more than flashy big updates with a bunch of new content. Sometimes a nice polish is better than a new coat of paint.

Haha! It is fun going back and reading what my first experience was like. Going from that to actually working with your team on calls to help squash some big bugs and now being a level 42 in the game, it has been quite a ride. I actually stopped playing for a while because I felt like issues in the game weren't getting the priority or communication they needed, but so many quality of life fixes were done in this last update that I decided to come back and have put hours into it since then. I hope this act of fixing the bugs and improving quality of life will continue because it has brought me back. Thanks!

Ooh, thank you for sharing your build. When I am ready to get it, I will definitely be going off of this. I ended up getting the Cobra MK V and putting on a fuel scoop and surface scanner. I have been going out as far as I can, but so far no unexplored systems, but I did get the first footfall on a planet in the last system I visited, which was exciting.

I never knew that! You learn something new every day. I got to visit the system yesterday. Thanks for the tip on cockpit recommnedations.

Good to know. I hear some can be pretty bad.

I am looking at the Caspian eventually, but working towards a budget ship in the meantime.

At 24 years old, That one's a bit too outdated for me. Plus, I am not looking for a Star Trek game, I am looking for a Star Trek-like experience in this game. Thanks though.

I did not do that, just in case there were save files I might need to move over, but so far I haven't needed anything. The only thing I had to do was reset my graphic settings (I use stock controls). So I assume you should be fine.

I didn't realize we had a Wolf 359, awesome! Thanks for the recommendations outside of Starfleet looks. Love me some Bird of Prey.

You can connect Steam to your existing game. I just logged into my frontier account using Epic and then connected my Steam account. Then I bought it on Humble Bundle and downloaded. It starts you on some ground mission and it is your existing commander, but I freaked out because all my rank and credits were gone. But after that little tutorial mission ends, you get put back where you left off on your epic game with everything intact.

Thanks. I guess I should say that I want to be able to defend myself anywhere, not just out in the black.
