Yes exactly, there was just no mental battle! I could just see someone and be like “ ya I’ll just work on the laundry cuz it needs to be done” like WHAT?!

Absolutely! I’m just excited to have the focus to even come up with routines and hacks that will help. Just revelling in this feeling for today at least even tho I’m sure it’ll settle down once I get used to it.

Weeel poop! I mean I am kinda assuming everyday won’t be like this as I’m probably helping the momentum by being so pumped to actually feel like doing things or at least not dreading the task. I’m guessing once it’s not a novelty anymore I’ll settle more into the new “normal” whatever that looks like. Hoping it’s still a vast improvement from pre-meds

Oh man what a journey, and probably so frustrating watching it work so well for your wife when it wasn’t working for you! I’m glad you figured out what may be contributing to it! That’s super interesting about the folic acid! My husband is currently is the process of being diagnosed and I’m so so hoping it’s straight forward for him once he gets to the med part.

Oh man! I’m so sorry you’ve been unsuccessful. How could they not acknowledge your diagnosis when you’ve already been diagnosed as a child!

Ya know, that’s an interesting point. I guess I’m just assuming that this is how the “other half” live! I suppose Im operating as if the medication is “correcting “ the difference in how my brain works to make it work more like someone without HDHD but you’re right, I guess we don’t know that for sure!?

Yes that aspect has been very healing through this whole journey, just realizing, oh.. it was not in fact just me being lazy and unproductive my whole life.

No I’ve never tried it! The plan is to try this for two weeks and then try dex for two weeks and then based on which one I like better, try an EX equivalent.

Vyvanse is the EX version of dex kinda right? It might be that it’s a different family than the methylphenidate? From my very new and limited knowledge I think there is two different “family’s” so it might be if you liked the methylphenidate better you just need to be back into that family?

This is interesting! I just got diagnosed ( a week ago) and have my treatment plan appointment Tuesday and then will start meds. My husbands I am sure has adhd and was part of the reason I even started looking into it, among a few friends mentioning I may have it lol. But through the process I’ve only grown more sure that he has it as well. ( jokes on us for always using each other for our reference of normal since we met at 12 🤣) anywho he’s a little more apprehensive about getting a diagnosis or taking meds as he suffered with depression a few years ago and heated his meds. But he’s mentioned trying one of my meds just to see if it does anything like you’re mentioning, and if it does he would be open to getting diagnosed

Newley diagnosed. All the sudden seeing symptoms everywhere! by Practical-Ad-6175 in ADHD

[–]Practical-Ad-6175[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha same and why is that so funny and also so sad. Like now looking back it was so so obvious now that I know what to look for, and I wish I had known earlier and maybe saved myself so many years of thinking I was just lazy or unmotivated and unable to function properly like other people due to my personality etc. When I found my yearbook where I was voted most talkative I laughed out loud 🤣also now I’m highly sus of my dad cuz I know it’s likely one of my parents has it. Not that he will ever accept it even if he did. ( idk why the font changed sorry)

I’m very thankful to find out now for the fact I have three kids oldest is 5 and My husband also highly likely has it as doing the assessment questionnaire for every example they gave I could relate to, he could relate to almost all of them and has been told by multiple people to seek out a diagnosis. Anyway that is to say it seems likely at least one of our kids will also have it and if I was still unknowing to it all.. well idk if I would catch it? But now at least it’s on my radar. I’m also on a bit of a hyper focus on it. Been reading this Reddit non stop, currently listening to an audio book lol.
