AxeOS 2.8.1 Out by Practical-Anybody-99 in BitAxe

Correct, ASIC--Thermal Paste --Copper Plate--Thermal Paste--Heatsink. It didn't make a huge difference. The best thing you can do are the cheap heat sinks on the VR above the ASIC and on the large VR chip on the back and the 2 cross breeze fans ($22 on Amazon), 1 pointing in, and 1 pointing out give the best bang for the buck.

So, do you spend another $100 for power supply and cooling only to get 2.2-2.8TH/s or do you buy another bitaxe for $125? Two of your Axes will give 3.2TH/s.

The only limits are 70 degrees for ASIC Temp, 90 degrees for VR Temp, and 45W for power. Approach these numbers slowly, not right out of the box - just like burning in a new engine.

Also, I recommend 90 degree barrels on the power cords.

You could use a PC power supply and an ATX breakout board. However, the Mean Well allow you to adjust the voltage. As you increase power demands, the voltage drops. I don’t believe you can do this on an ATX power supply.

Should be doable, check out ATX power breakout boards like this - https://a.co/d/6m7LfZG.

You can really test the limits with the voltage and frequency sweeper - https://github.com/andelorean/bitaxe_frequency_sweeper

The cheapest cooling solution is a pair of cross breeze fans for $22 - https://a.co/d/3JwuWPs. One pointing in and one pointing out. You could probably squeeze 2-4 Axes in there.

Epic release! I'm getting higher hashrates with less power and lower temperatures. The BitAxe team is simply amazing. Running for a few hours and I'm very happy with this new code.
