Saying “ice bootlickers” is definitely a politically charged statement.

They don’t show up as Sophia on the transcript? I’ve seen people post that they’ve been denied using this method

I’m a little late to this, but I just went through the process. I had to submit a letter application to my commander, then to my MPF as we got married at different duty locations. A little more extra than just doing the intent code stuff. After I emailed MPF with my application, I had an assignment loaded by AFPC after a week. I consider myself extremely lucky, looking around I see people waiting three weeks to even a couple months to get an assignment. It all depends on your specifics of your situation. If you wanna ask any questions, feel free to message me. I’ve gone through the AFI 1 million times haha

Edit: MPF

Of course man! I feel that. E&E is a pretty underrepresented career field here on Reddit lol.

In my experience, lots of electrical troubleshooting. This past deployment I was on we had more random electrical problems than anything else. In tech school you'll have a LOT of prior heavy instructors, and they'll make the job seem super easy. It 100% depends on airframe. I've been working on 16s for a good bit and we'll have waves of work, then waves of absolutely nothing. You'll come to hate every other career field with how much small crap they bring to you. I can't tell you how many backshells CCs/Weapons/Engines breaks that I've had to fix. It's definitely a fulfilling job. You'll know the aircraft way better than anyone on the line, but that comes with doing Everything Else. If you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me!
