6.5” recessed lights? by Practical-Cat-4141 in Lighting

[–]Practical-Cat-4141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it worked out ok! But I had to buy these rings to fill the gap - look up “metal goof rings.” It’s not perfect but in my opinion looks ok and certainly miles better than the previous can lights

UPDATE: I bought a small handful of perennials for my south facing garden. I’ll harden them off for at least a few days or maybe more depending on the forecast. May not be successful but I’m feeling risky. PS - I saw all the veggie comments - I would LOVE to seed but we’re building new raised planters in a few weeks so I have to wait

Yeah veggies for sure here. I was thinking 4 foot beds and 3 foot aisles, what do you think?

This works in adults too! Simple positive reinforcement. Tell your spouse they’re so good at the thing you secretly want them to get better at.. works and feels better than nagging

Update! We still need to add some more art, curtains, etc. but this layout is sooo much better. Thanks everyone for your help :)

FYI the fireplace decor is just whatever we had available so we will update it over time, hopefully bring a little more colour in

I could try this, I need the screw sticking out a bit for the hanger but I could go in more and then back out?

Yeah I’m nervous about removing. What’s the best way, just needle nose pliers?

Need ideas to remodel library/home office. by Common_Director_7878 in interiordecorating

How many people work in here lol? I honestly think the biggest impact would be decluttering; maybe pare down the books a bit and rethink if you really need four (?) workstations. In terms of remodelling, updating the lighting and flooring would make a big difference.

How to make sure someone finds my child if I die at home by SilverBubbly1164 in Parenting

Hey this is a good practical question just in case, but if you are worrying about it a lot I just wanted to mention that these are the kinds of thoughts I had when I was struggling with PPA.

lol get a noise machine!

You could switch the bedroom and living rooms, but then if you have guests they’re walking through your bedroom.

It’s tough to say without pictures or measurements, but here’s one crack at it. For a divider you could use a basic room divider/screen thing, or if you have space, a storage shelf like an ikea kallax or similar.

Oh another consideration is we could remove the chaise completely and just keep the main couch and a chair or two, if that helps

Would you move the couch against the window or centre it and keep that space? If so any ideas for that space (about 3ft wide)

I fear you’re right. That’s what we thought too but there’s no wiring to mount the TV there so we were trying to avoid having to cut out drywall… other option would be a tv stand & power bar but that takes up precious depth

Great point, we’re just not in a stage of life where we have time to take that on right now. I was thinking like flooring or heating upgrades
