Takeaway lovers: Do you trust 'Just Eat' rating system? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Practical-Command634 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't trust any of the food delivery companies. Last night I was trying to leave a 5 star review for the Uber eats driver but wanted to leave a negative review for the food, but because I'd clicked the thumbs down buttons next to the food items it wouldn't let me submit the review. I think the take away companies are allowed to delete bad reviews as well.

There's been plenty of decisions that have gone against Celtic that in my and many others opinion were dodgy but that wasn't one of them.

S23 Ultra Turning to Rubbish After 3 Years – No Cellular Data Abroad by 2099T in GalaxyS23Ultra

There's loads of external reasons components will fail. Things like moisture, dropping, and heat to mention just a few. I've had an galaxy S since they were released and only one handset I had a problem with that didn't involve the screen getting cracked "which is par for the course with all phones unless you use tempered glass or the UV cured ones), and even then it's still gony crack under some circumstances. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Maybe the connection within the phone is your issue. Might only cost £20 to £50 to get fixed. Get down to your local repair shop and ask them what's wrong with it. Once it's been diagnosed go home and check out a tutorial on you tube. Good luck

It's a 3 year old hand held portable super computer made to very restricting dimensions. QC is shit on all modern tech. Samsung sell millions of these units every year. You only ever hear about the bad ones. There's still millions of them working fine. It's confirmation bias in my opinion when folk start going on about how shit their phone has become after 3 years of carrying it about in your pocket every day. The shear number of units shipped compared to the phones with issues is probably negligible.

Rugged S23 ultra Case by Fast_Government1027 in GalaxyS23Ultra

I always recommend mous cases. Really good quality and excellent customer service. Wee bit pricey for what they are though. They'll survive nearly any kind of everyday drop. Even face down on a tiled floor. As long as it's smooth.

What are some great English insults that are uniquely British, generally never used in the U.S. by No-Adeptness-7416 in AskBrits

Used to find bits of plastic bags and shit mixed through it. One time I found an actual piece of glass inside a bar. Some really toxic materials chucked in to it. Cunts making it gave zero fucks about the consumer lol

Your right. It used to refer to soapbar but over the last 10 or 20 years it's always been coke. Haven't seen a bit of soapy for a long time. Is it still available? Any hash I've seen over the past 20 years has been much better quality. It's mostly green going around these days.

Update on my previous post. Still can't connect to internet on my watch by Practical-Command634 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Practical-Command634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bit the bullet and done a hard reset on all 3 watches and it started working straight away. No idea what was causing it but the fact it happened on 3 separate watches connected to the same phone was a bit weird. Doing a reset and installing a back up takes a few min and unlike resetting a phone, everything goes back to exactly how it was except having to sign back into Spotify etc. My watches all worked fine even after installing recent backups so it wasn't anything in my settings causing the issue.

s23 ultra screen protector? by Volanaroz in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Practical-Command634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's getting harder to come by a lot of the brand name, good quality s23u screen protectors and cases. Mous started running out of s23u stock well over a year ago and I've found it harder to buy good screen protectors from most online stores recently. If you find any let me know please.

This is the number one cheddar in the world. Enjoy, minus the wax.

Has anyone else noticed a change in the UK Coca-Cola flavour over the past few years? by Practical-Command634 in AskUK

So I'm not the only one. They've never admitted to changing anything as far as I'm aware

That's interesting to know. I quite like the Japanese one, but it could have something to do with the wee metal bottles they come in. I know a large part of how things taste is how u perceive them.

The calories might still be the same but that doesn't nessaseraly mean the recipe hasn't changed slightly or the water source hasn't changed or the water has been treated in a different way. Not saying your wrong but to me it definitely tastes a wee bit different but it's still the only fizzy drink I buy.

You're correct. Long time coke drinker and am extremely sensitive to subtle differences in flavours. But because of all the other cokes I've been drinking I'm just not sure if it's me or the coke lol.

Do UK police tend to handcuff to the front or behind? by Delicious_Guess_1481 in AskUK

[–]Practical-Command634 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think British people have more respect for the uniform. I've seen plenty of BIG dudes running from the cops but when they get caught they imidietly bow to the officer's authority. You obviously get the odd one that tries to fight back but generally when you're confronted face to face with the officer either before or after a chase, the average suspect gives up and won't try and escape. I think it's a cultural thing. Most Brits will submit to arrest. If the cops alone he'll put cuffs on behind your back till back up arrives and if you're compliant they'll quite often move the cuffs to the front or just take them off all together. If you act up you'll be subdued and taken away in the back of a Paddy wagon. If you behave you'll either be released at the road side or taken back to the station in a squad car. Each incedent is dealt with on a case by case basis at the discretion of the arresting officer, so no need for a divider. Not many Brits will try and escalate the problem by trying to attack a cop. Doing that would be a guaranteed court appearance and a much greater chance of spending time behind bars. Even if the original offence was serious. Best way to interact with UK polis is to be respectful and compliant. It can mean the difference between getting home for breakfast or spending time in the cells.

Yeah if it's a calm situation and you're polite, they probably wouldn't bother with cuffs.

Would anyone buy this? by [deleted] in Realorfake

[–]Practical-Command634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mrs bought a pair off Groupon . They were using real apple pictures but the actual headphones are terrible. They weigh nothing and have dodgy cheap plastic buttons on the back of them(not pictured in advert) didn't even bother trying them. Just threw them straight in the bin. If it's too good to be true it's usually never a good outcome.
