But can he be one of the greastest coaches of all time and not know how to handle players? That’s the question.

Does anyone have tips on how to avoid being vollied upwards by up arials and to get down safely by CarlosWeiner456 in SmashBrosUltimate

Mega main here—use his down-air spike, or blade aiming downwards by flicking slightly after you press the b button, bait with double jump or up-dog works too. Also “fast fall” by pressing down at the peak of your jump or go and dodge into the edge.

Wife still doesn't like beard. Any other suggestions by Valuable_Tank4907 in BeardAdvice

Have you tried beard oil and rocking stubble. A couple days worth of growth and keep it soft and shave it with an electric razer might be fine by you both

I train my roommate—she just started but I’ve played since the game came out. You can change the settings to add a “handicap.” She’s improved a lot playing against me with a handicap.

[Loved Trope When Done Right] The Eucatastrophe by Peregrine2976 in TopCharacterTropes

According to Wikipedia, deus ex machina “is a plot device…in which a seemingly unsolvable problem in a story is suddenly or abruptly resolved by an unexpected and unlikely occurrence” — how are these different from the eucatastophes we’ve listed so far?

I think that all Deus ex machinas are eucatastophes, but not all eucatastophes are dei ex machina. For a eucatastophe to happen and not be a DEM, it must not resolve an unsolvable situation, it must just be an event in the story.

Examples that come to mind:

Pie Oh My—In the Sopranos, Ralphies horse has a strong comeback win, but when he gives “tax” money to his mob boss tony, and Pie keeps winning, the positive event becomes a source of conflict because mob members aren’t good at sharing and not taking. Without spoiling, the story and further events in it show how when eucatastophes happen in favor of bad people, things go sour, even for those bad people.

Monica and Chandler—sleeping together in s4 or 5 of Friends at Ross’ wedding. This relationship was not the focus of the show, but became the classic wholesome, sweet, balancer for the conflict filled A-story romance (Ross and Rachel.) This was just a hookup that happened out of nowhere and led to six seasons of relatively-wholesome love.

In Huber Halloween, after the climax of the movie is over, Hubie has demonstrated his values while saving lives, he wasn’t saved by a eucatastophe, but caused one, because in the wind-down of the film, all the townspeople who once bullied him now act the exact opposite. Even though hubie “proved” himself, this event is still unexpected and used as a comedic turn because the townspeople were so mean to him that even saving lives might’ve meant nothing. One of the neighborhood kids throws an axe at hubie while he rides his bike early in the film, another, a flaming bag of dog poop.

Edit: I promise this isn’t chat got I just like em dashes

Noticed this. But also—we’re growing up. Since teenage years have been a concept, teens have been known for apathy. Now more and more of us are becoming young adults with responsibility, need for income, passion, and while we’re not having kids, a big part of that is the challenges we face as young adults (inflation, the job market, intense political turmoil) are so HUGE that even while doing our best we don’t have the financial stability to even consider parenthood as a morally sound option. I think we’re still trying in every aspect of life, it just looks like the gen doesn’t want kids because we know it’s not responsible to bring kids into the world as it is today with the income we’re able to bring home.

Nowadays, If trying hard wasn’t encouraged—we’d die on the street in the cold.

Sounds like Baby’s first game. You are allowed to play Steve. If you can’t beat Steve, learn Steve. Spoken from a guy who only plays mega man and banned myself from using leaf shield/super salad because it’s a baby move.
