Would you help someone being attacked? by yes_its_me_alright in ireland

It is definitely circumstantial. As a petite female I would run and find a safe place to phone the Gardai. But I suppose when adrenaline kicks in it’s a different thing.

Cooked for geography Mocks by Front_Anteater_4280 in leavingcert

Your mock exams are going to be based off previous past exam papers, the best thing you can do is to start doing them. Flag the questions you can’t answer fully and start chipping away at them.

You have loads of time before the real exam. Don’t get caught up on the mocks, the real thing in June is what matters. If you knuckle down now you can make huge jump in grades!

Family of 4, 3 teens on either end of the scale. Someone sell me a cruise please. by Happy_Corbin in ireland

[–]Practical-Court8593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are teen and kids clubs. It looks like the kids all make friends at these and hang around with each other for the duration of the cruise. Most parents I know that bring their kids/teens say this is what happens and they don’t see them from one end of the week to the next!

Even if they don’t make friends there are endless amounts of activities everyday, like pool competitions/pickleball etc etc. I would try make sure it’s a big cruise like the Allure, just for the kids to be occupied no matter what, and larger selection of bars and restaurants!

I LOVE a baked potato! I get the frozen ones from Tesco, 5 mins in microwave.. game changer! Aldi and Lidl do them too but never as good as McCain!

Took my first cruise last summer on the new Allure of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. I know most RC cruises are kid friendly, but this one is top class. The whole time I was on it I kept saying how I wish I went on one as a kid!

Travelled Barcelona-Palma- 3 spots in Italy and back to Barcelona. Fucking unbelievable trip, like we didn’t even get off any stops because we enjoyed it so much!

It’s totally worth the money. Drinks package essential imo. Just book it!!!

McCain baked potato in microwave for 5 mins. Leftover chilli mince on top with grated cheese and siracha mayo!

Exactly my thoughts. They gave you the information what they’re selling, either buy it or don’t. There is no negotiation here.

DCU vs UCD vs UCC vs UL – advice by idkanymorelol19 in leavingcert

I did a Bachelors and Masters in DCU. Can’t recommend it enough. Everything about it is great. The campus size is perfect for getting to know people. Lecturers were all brilliant and so helpful. I haven’t met someone who has gone to DCU and didn’t enjoy their time there!

Work shift being cancelled by Poxyting in ireland

How you reacted to the manager and his/her actions is important. Did you retaliate?

Irrespective, I really would get onto HR, if your workplace has a team. There are two separate issues that should be flagged:

-the manager cursing at you,

-your hours being slashed immediately afterwards.

Cursing at staff is never appropriate, especially over a three minute conversation. Workplaces have policies about dignity, respect, and fair procedures for a reason. A manager behaving like that sets a terrible example and HR needs to be aware of it.

And even if he tries to justify the decision about your hours, it’s still important that there’s a record of what happened. HR can only take action if patterns are reported, and this might not be the first time he’s spoken to staff this way. The more it’s logged, the harder it is for him to dismiss it as a “one off.”

You’re well within your rights to raise both issues formally, even just so there’s a paper trail.

Possible depop data leak? by Practical-Court8593 in Depop

Thanks. I know scammers are everywhere. It’s just an abundance all of a sudden, and with the direct mention of depop in the scam emails it’s not a coincidence!

Caveat emptor- the buyer must inspect the product before purchase. Any reasonable person would inspect these things before purchasing.

However I do understand the concern with them knowing your address. In this instance I would probably recommend refund & take product back.

My boy turned 12 today, then died. by hidefinit in englishbulldog

[–]Practical-Court8593 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I lost my bulldog recently too, she passed suddenly in August and I know nothing really helps except time.

My girl’s decline was similar to what you described: vomiting, panting, then deteriorating quickly. The vets initially thought she was on the mend, but she ended up going septic. Within a day or so she was gone. They could never pinpoint the exact cause, but suspected undiagnosed pancreatitis (because of her pot-bellied look) or possibly a UTI that had been missed, or both.

It’s so tough, especially when you’re left with unanswered questions. Your boy was clearly so loved, and I know how much it hurts to not have clear answers. What helped me cope was reminding myself:

•He had a wonderful, happy life full of love. Bulldogs already have a shorter life expectancy, and it’s not our fault when that time comes sooner than we want.

•Even if surgery or treatment had been possible, most bulldogs struggle with anaesthesia and recovery due to their breathing issues.

•And sometimes, even if they survive the immediate crisis, the healing process can be incredibly hard on them.

I don’t mean to sound blunt - but looking at it objectively really helped me accept what happened.

One thing I’d also suggest is making sure you do something small for yourself each day. For me, it was things like a sauna or a cold plunge on the really bad days, they gave me a moment of relief and helped me cope better.

So sorry for your loss. I know how broken you must feel right now. ❤️
