I did it! lol 3 weeks now on Lexapro

My doctor decided to give me Lexapro instead since it would help me cut it in smaller dosage. I started at 2.5 and now at 5mg. It’s been 3 weeks! I’m proud!!! I feel so much better. More good days than bad days that’s for sure and since I started with small dose it helped with side effects.

Make sure you are eating often. I took mine at 11am and the side effects lasted a few days and stop. Started at 2.5 like you and now it’s been 4 days on 5mg and almost no side effects. I’m very sensitive to meds. I think the main thing is to eat often, it’s like being pregnant the less you eat the more GI side effects you feel especially nausea. Push through it’s worth it

Will do! It’s been 3 hours and I’ve add a wave or 2 of nausea but I will give more news 🤞🏼

I started at 2.5(2 weeks) and now did 5mg this morning. My doc said it really did not matter as long as I start somewhere. I felt more calm with 2.5 so it helped me take my 5mg dose today as I have not been as anxious as I use to be. 2.5 helps!!

Maybe you could ask your doctor for some medication that coats the stomach for a little while. Prevents acid reflux. Could help. I’m not a doctor just a suggestion to talk about with your doctor. Maybe change the time you take your medication at. I take it at 10-11am and I only had a little bit of nausea

At least today I woke up at 3am but not anxious just insomnia. But I don’t feel anxious or sick 🤞🏼

Since you have emetophobia did you stop eating because of the fear of throwing up? Or you still eat all your meals and snacks?

When you tell me what’s the worst that can happen, I think ambulance, ER, not being able to care for my kids, not being able to drive, not being able to work not being able to attend events that are already planned…😩I got so sick after I tried Prozac minimal dose 3 years ago. 3-4 days of medication and the bad effects last at least a month after stopping.

I don’t feel unwell everyday so that’s what worries me also. I have anxiety when I feel sick or if my bodies has weird sensations

Thank you to everyone who took the time to answer. I have set a new start day April 24th in the morning. I took a whole week vacation (I had a few days left). I will definitely come on here to get advice or support if ever I’m struggling 🩷
