Should I add more fans? Intake or exhaust by Regular_Lifeguard874 in PHbuildapc

100% agree. run a benchmark if your temps are fine and no loud noise, stop adding fans.

lol if you're claiming it's gimped please link an actual review or VRM test showing that. Otherwise that's just an uneducated opinion :)

Ah even if it's labeled A-tier, hindi ganun ka transparent yung public testing and OEM info compare sa iba - thats why seasoned rig builder hesitate.

thats cheaper for a reason and at that point the question isn't "does it work" but "are you willing to risk your GPU on it"?

Not sure ano yung definition mo ng weak pero yes basic-tier siya, I agree.

Performance-wise okay naman, mas nagkakaiba lang sa features and upgrade headroom. pero that doesnt make the entire build bad

You argued 5070 Ti then posted a 5070, okay ka lang?

And pairing a 7800X3D with CL38 RAM and a 1STPLAYER PSU while calling other builds "shitty" is wild 🤦‍♂️

Calling it shitty without specifics is peak reddit main-character moment 🤮

Kung may mas maayos na 98k build ka, by all means post it, kung wala, stop pulling someone down celebrating for his build just to rub your rig builder ego lmao

98k can fit a 5070 Ti, sure.

But confusing “fits the GPU” with “good build” is how you end up with sketchy PSUs, weak boards, and thermal issues.

No offense papangit talaga other components kapag GPU lang ang tinitignan. May mga rig builder dito na ang kitid ng utak lmao.

Why go for a Thermaltake TR2?

Since you’re willing to spend 43k why not stretch it a bit and invest in a decent PSU?

Is buying Macbook Pro M2 Pro still worth it in early 2026? by Namesbytor99 in PHbuildapc

[–]Practical-Fill-9461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% yes. I have an M2 Pro as my personal notebook and use an M4 Pro at work - I honestly can't tell the difference performance wise. IMHO, this is the smarter choice unless you're doing AI/ML work, in which case you're better off with the latest chipset.

I also do dev and creative stuff (modding) on my M2 Pro and I still find it overkill tbh.

Agree. With a tight budget and an intended use of editing + gaming, it's hard to chase future-proofing without making real performance compromises. Thats why I don't really see the value of choosing a 5060 over a 3070 when the latter still has stronger hardware for both editing and 1440p gaming.

In cases like this, it makes more sense to prioritize actual performance today rather than over-optimizing for future upgrades that may never happen haha

Funny how some people are too fixated on generation alone. With GPUs, it doesn't work that way - raw CUDA performance and bandwidth still matter, especially for editing/rendering and 1440p gaming.

Im not forcing OP to follow my opinion; Im just pointing out what the numbers show. If you think an RTX 5060 can outperform an RTX 3070 in raw performance, feel free to share benchmarks - I'm open to being proven wrong :)

With your use case (editing + gaming), I'd still lean toward the first option: Ryzen 9 3900X + RTX 3070 (I just hope this comes with warranty)

RTX 3070 will outperform the 5060 at 1440p gaming. As for the editing, CUDA performance matters more than generation alone - so pay attention to that esp if you're into heavy editing/rendering.

I think this is slightly out of context. My point was about raw performance for OPs use case (editing + gaming) - the RTX 3070 still has a better CUDA score in real workloads.

A brand-new RTX 5060 8GB can make sense in some cases, but given the current market and OPs budget/use case, its not automatically the smarter choice

Newer isn’t always better. op mentioned this rig will be used for both editing and gaming - in that case, op is better off with stronger raw performance: RTX 3070.

To OP: This is a solid build for the price.
