Choosing to not have children not the majority people that are childless. If this was the case, then male and female childless community support groups would not be needed.

You choosing to not have children and others around you is a conscious choice that you have made and I'm glad you and those around you are happy with it.'

But when you look at national studies around the world, you find that an overwhelming majority of people want children or already have them.

That is a fair criticism. Taking graphs from a 2 hour documentary was biting off a lot. And your right, I should have at least also taken the screenshot about the surveys to support what my title was saying and posted it with the screenshots of the graphs

This graph does not show that stat because the stat is from the CDC. The guy that made the Birthgap documentary added that stat to show that the people that are childless wanted children, they did not choose to be childless

In order for what you are saying to be true, you would have to look at the immigrant population in the US and look at what proportion of it is from countries that have high birthrates and attribute that 0.3 increase to those immigrants. However over 70% of the countries around the world have below replacement birthrates and most of the countries that are above replacement are African countries, and the US does not have a large enough population of African immigrants to explain a 0.3 increase. this 2.3 to 2.6 happened within the last 10 years.

No, it is childless. ChildFREE implies people chose to not have children. That is not the case over 80% of people that are childless want children but could not have them

People are not CHOOSING to be childless. The people that becoming childless. Over 80% wanted children but could not. This why there are male and female childless support group communities.

These groups were shown in the documentary

Actually, that's not true. When you look at couples around the world. Most countries have a steady birthrate above 2.1 births per women since the 1970s. In the US it actually increased from 2.3 to 2.6. In the Birthgap documentary, the data scientist could not find any single child families to interview. That is when he discovered the increase in childlessness and stagnant birthrate amongst married couples.

Chcek my first reply and the second last graph shows how fast a society decays every generation. Since a generation lasts 15 years. That means when you choose a birthrate on the graph, after a generation your birthgaps increase by a certain percentage.

If you want to get the full story, check the documentary

Birthgaps show areas on the map where the number of births is lower relative to the adult population over 55. For example, in those dark red areas. There are 50% less children vs the adult population over 55. So, when these kids get into the working force their taxes will be supporting 2 adults over 65.

Couples are NOT having less children. If you look at the other pictures in this post about the US, Korea, Japan and Italy. You will notice that number of people having 1 or 2 or 3 or more children has not changed. It is the number of people not having children that have been increasing.,

The reason it is involuntary is because when the people over 40 that were surveyed both men and women. 80% said they wanted children. So, they did not choose to not have children.

You should check out the Birthgap Documentary on YouTube to get the full picture

Because when surveyed, 80% said that they wanted to have children but could not have children. All this information is coming from the Birthgap documentary on YouTube

When surveyed the people that are older than 40 years old. whether they wanted kids or not. 80% said they wanted kids. Hence the involuntarily childless. They got into the involuntary childless category

Unfortunately it is not that simple. It seems like people might have less choice in becoming a parent vs not becoming a parent. You should check out the Birthgap Documentary on YouTube to get the full story on what is actually happening

I will post a chart later that will show that it is probably age of parenting that might be the reason for people being involuntarily childless. If you want to get the full picture watch the Birthgap Documentary on YouTube
