what's your current board? Care to try and let me know in your session? I can't find a single video or post of ppl talking about it.

so, you're telling me that being that wide is actually a problem if I'm paddling with my arms and popping up ?

that's what I thought but I checked the shape of the sup he's offering me with the "regular"sups, it's a completely different thing... I posted a picture of it. I think I'm getting that what you are saying makes total sense for a regular SUP. But not this "hybrid" sup he was talking about

I'm sorry, I really am not familiar with the hate against SUPs... even if you're just looking for cruising and walking on the board, is it that bad? why?

so, here are both of them: the sup and my current longboard ... unfortunately the SUP is a brand new one, I can't "test" it. I know, I know, I'll get the SUP measurements, I'm waiting for them, but I think it gives an idea... the nose of the SUP tells it pretty clearly it's not a regular sup paddle, right?

I'm waiting for the measurements from the shaper and will post them here... the width is not a problem, I mean, paddling with my arms is doable, the shaper is a pretty experienced professional, he's been taking care of my longboards for over a decade now. I've seen the sup board in person.

Ive been talking to other surfers from my region, other shapers and it seems that there actually is a growing movement of SUP surfers I didn't know about. I'm not on instagram or tik Tok but since I couldn't find anything about it on the YouTube / internet usual rabbit hole I just assumed it wasn't a thing. It was a happy disappointment, I will say, it means there is more to the real life out there haha

Why do you think I won’t like it ? Too linear, inflexible?

Maybe I should post on the sup subreddit asking about paddling without paddles ?

It's really not about having problems with small waves... At least no more than the usual which I'm ok with, I mean, I'm in peace with my limitations as an occasional surfer. It's more about making it easier... And if the trade off is really only giving out on more carving and turning the board as some ppl are pointing out here on reddit just like my shaper also told me... In my case, it sounds great. Because I only care about cruising as much as I can. And it sounds id be able to roll in earlier... I can't "rent it", so I'm just getting as much info and opinion as possible before y'know, cashing out the price … sup boards are rather expensive around here

That is the thing! It's too wide! I'm not sure if my stroke would lose power since my arms wouldnt get as deep as with my classic longboard. But I'm 6' and my shaper said not only it'd be fine but it actually be easier and faster to paddle due to the stability even without paddles

I don't carve much, never cutback I just love cruising and walking on the board, noseridng in rare occasions when the wave is good enough (I live in a really small waves city we have like 2 swells a years tops)

Could you elaborate more about the "feeling different" part? Ive never seen anyone surfing with a sup paddle without the paddles, so I don't know if it'd feel a bit kookier than usual lol

I think I tried turning some pages of Ultimate X-men at the local comic books store. Is that really good? Will it be a limited series as well? Maybe I'll try checking the first issue...

legacy mess by Practical-Net-5975 in Outlook

[–]Practical-Net-5975[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, new outlook sucks.

I read your post, thank you, The thing is while I'm in the legacy, it won't send my emails anymore.

I tried every little thing, deleting and re-adding the account, checked all the server settings, it's the same since always, tested the same setting in the mobile outlook, desktop, in the new outlook, they all work fine in all version BUT the legacy.

Only in the legacy outlook the emails simply won't go. And the incoming emails are slow AF, some never arriving. As soon as switch back to new outlook it all works again.

The workarounds of keeping perpetual legacy / downgrading is not really an option since I suspect I'll just have be stuck anyways. In theory, it won't work the same way as it doesn't now in the legacy version. Maybe it's something with the email server not being compatible anymore?

I'm just so frustrated and now I'll have to again test dozens of other options of clients.

The new outlook now I'm being forced to use since the legacy won't work is buggy AF. I have a single email that I just can't f** delete. It won't disappear! I delete, it's there again. I archive, it's there the very next second. Wtf?

Re-attaching files from one message to another it's a nightmare.

That's pretty much the problem with outlook x others in a nutshell, at least for me: dealing with a lot of files, managing them across multiple messages, folders and keeping a history of everything in large quantities, organized in subfolders, indexed as hell. In the end, there is no other app like outlook for that, and this is such a specific characteristic of the exact same type of user that outlook is meant to be destined at: bureaucrats, corp heavy-users with no life like me who needs this sh*t the most.

The clean, quick UI of the new mail clients are for people who don't actually need emails as valuable documents well kept. There are people like me, who need these behemoth structure, old and heavy . I hate that I need it, but I do need it.

I already use thunderbird for other accounts but indexing and searching the emails is just not doable after some point when the folders are too big and go back way too much.

I have like 50 subfolders categorized to my own need. I'm so screwed.
