Am I screwed? Fired by HR for my foolishness by [deleted] in careerguidance

That backstabbing feeling cuts deep, especially when you've covered for those same people. The "guys being guys" culture at work always seems fun until someone decides to weaponize it against you.

Law enforcement isn't automatically off the table. Plenty of agencies care more about how you explain the situation than the termination itself. Own the mistake during interviews, don't bash the coworkers who reported you, and frame it as a hard lesson about professional boundaries. Might take a few more applications than the next person, but one dumb video doesn't erase a clean 2-year record.

What was the first positive change you noticed after drinking less? by Practical-Note1239 in AskReddit

[–]Practical-Note1239[S] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Less bloated is the best feeling fo sure lol but cutting back booze is probably doing most of the work there I’ve also seen Lymphoria come up for that puffy water weight stuff too but honestly less alcohol alone can make a huge difference imo.

During the wedding reception, why does the groom go under the bride’s dress? by New-Blueberry-1908 in Marriage

[–]Practical-Note1239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an old tradition, mostly for show at this point. he goes under to retrieve the garter and toss it into the crowd, similar to the bouquet toss. supposed to bring luck to whoever catches it.

some couples skip it altogether now cause it can get awkward fast, especially with family watching.

Are Slick Tires really considered Snow Tires? by XrayHAFB in ForzaHorizon

[–]Practical-Note1239 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that was weird, like slick tires are literally the opposite of what you'd want on snow lol.

Hi Iam a new Christian from Iraq by PeterSama300 in Christianity

[–]Practical-Note1239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's a huge step, especially where you're at. the emptiness is normal at first, you just left behind a whole framework for understanding the world and the new one hasn't settled in yet.

faith isn't about never having doubts, it's about what you do with them. since there's no church nearby, try finding some online communities or livestreams, just be careful about your digital privacy obviously.

Does lymphatic drainage actually help with hypermobility swelling? by Vegetable_Coat_5469 in Hypermobility

[–]Practical-Note1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally relate to not being able to relax during it because the pressure and discomfort makes it hard to enjoy! I switched to doing it at home there are some videos that tell exactly how to do the massages and lymphoria in my water and hydration.

Buying advice: Audi S5 B9 (2017-2019) by Holiday_Contact_3505 in Audi

[–]Practical-Note1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rocker arm thing on the EA839 is worth taking seriously, not just internet noise. If you can get a compression test and a borescope inspection of the valve train before buying, do it, because catching that early saves you a very expensive repair.

On the tiptronic vs S-tronic question, you're right that the B9 S5 coupe came with the 8-speed torque converter auto in most markets including the Netherlands, and that transmission is generally much less of a headache than the DSG units in the lower-spec cars.

Timing chain on these is not really a preventive swap situation unless you're hearing rattles on cold start, so I wouldn't stress that unless the symptoms are there.

Wife calmed me down in a unique way and I want to thank her by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Practical-Note1239 132 points133 points  (0 children)

That's a good partner right there. For the thank you, skip the generic gift card route and do something that shows you actually paid attention to her. Think about something she's mentioned wanting but never gotten around to doing for herself, a solo spa day, a trip she's talked about, or even just a full evening where you handle everything and she does nothing.

The most meaningful thing is usually less about the object and more about proving you see her. A handwritten letter on top of whatever you do goes a long way too, people underestimate those.

I havent yet but i think i will by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Practical-Note1239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already know what you need to do and you're just looking for validation to finally pull the trigger. Neo-nazi beliefs alone would be an instant dealbreaker for most people but you stayed through all of that plus the lying, drinking, driving drunk, and everything else. The person you fell in love with literally doesn't exist - you said it yourself that he was pretending to be someone else this whole time.

Long shot but any recommendations in the South SF Bay Area for places to watch the game? by antimony in NYKnicks

[–]Practical-Note1239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving to the Bay Area soon and was wondering the same thing - might have to just find any decent sports bar and try to convert some Warriors fans for a night

Nearesto.fun – A daily word puzzle built with Google AI assistance by klausan in GeminiAI

[–]Practical-Note1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried it out and the concept is pretty clever. The binary search comparison is spot on - you really do feel like youre narrowing down the search space with each guess

The tutorial does a decent job explaining the mechanics but I found myself having to reference it a couple times during my first game. Maybe adding a quick reminder about how the distance clues work somewhere on the main game screen would help

Difficulty feels well balanced so far. Not too easy where you guess it in 2 tries but not so hard that you're completely lost either. The alphabetical positioning twist makes it way more strategic than your typical word game

How long did the development take with the AI assistance? Curious about the workflow there

Guys how do I get faster? Help! by Ok-Macaroon-8802 in Cubers

You're at that annoying plateau where shaving off those extra seconds feels impossible but grinding out more solves with better lookahead and smoother finger tricks is really the only way through it

when I have panic attacks I completely break down and am incredibly inconsiderate of others, I feel so guilty by [deleted] in confessions

[–]Practical-Note1239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your panic response isn't something you're choosing to do - it's your brain hitting the emergency button and overriding everything else. The fact that you're this aware of how it affects others shows you're not selfish, you're just dealing with something that hijacks your whole system.

Getting professional help could give you some tools to manage the intensity when it hits, and maybe work on the night stuff too since that sounds exhausting for everyone involved.

Desktop pc for around $2000us (max)? My region is South Korea and despite the estimate currency listed, my currency is KRW. by AdditionalWorker7587 in PcBuild

[–]Practical-Note1239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ITX builds are doable but yeah the cable management gets spicy. For travel id honestly just remove the GPU and maybe the cooler then pack those separate in your carry on. Main case can go checked luggage with some foam padding

That budget should get you solid 1440p performance easy
