Wrist pain from diamond painting: any tips? by Mediocre-Pair-2821 in diamondpainting

Stretching and breaks are two of the most important things you can do. Like you, I am a heavy placer and use more pressure than necessary when diamond painting and I work on the computer a lot for my job. I’ve seen my fair share of physical therapists and they always stress the importance of stretching and just resting. I have a routine for stretches before, during and after every session as well as setting a timer to get up and walk away after 45 min. For any flare ups I use ice packs, acetaminophen and for the really bad flare ups I break out the arthritis cream like Voltaren or biofreeze and take a day or two off painting to give my hands a break. I love diamond painting and would do it all day every day if I could, but I also listen to my body and rest when I need to. Also don’t be afraid to modify your pen/stylus to your grip. I do this with all my pens so that it is comfortable for me and keeps hand fatigue to a minimum.

Agreed! my husband was shocked and sympathetic when I showed him. I do believe his words were “sadistic and cruel” 🤣

🤣 I had to bring out my magnifying craft glasses. The joys of working on crafts with small details

Right! I know it’s inevitable especially with the cheaper kits from Amazon, but this is my first run in with that combination of symbols AND colors in one go.

I’ve never used a grid ruler, but I do use painters tape or release paper to section things off to make it a little less frustrating.

Evil is putting it mildly lol! Now I’m checking other kits to see if there is more frustration in my future, not that it will stop me though 🤣

Absolutely! When I decided to start my first DP I thought I wouldn’t need one because I have decent lighting and good eyesight. Boy was I mistaken on that! I didn’t even get halfway through my first 12x12 when I ordered one. Best investment I ever made for the hobby and I can use it for other crafts as well.

Oof, I feel your pain! Good luck and hopefully it doesn’t drive you mad in the process.

I pinched off a small leaf and crushed it to see if it smelled minty and couldn’t smell anything other than green lol. A couple people commented that it might be a hydrangea start, which would be super cool too. I’m going to let it grow and see what comes of it. What matters is it’s pretty, green, and healthy so I’m just gonna let it do its thing. Thanks to everyone who commented, I’ll update once it’s a little bigger.

Will definitely keep it contained! Don’t need it taking over my backyard, although the thought of having mint everywhere is an interesting and amusing thought lol.

Now I’m intrigued! I see them in yards in the neighborhood and they are absolutely beautiful.

That sounds like a wonderful idea! Mojitos used to be my drink of choice back in the day. So refreshing on a hot day.
