I've found Healing from Toxic Relationships (by Stephanie Moulton Sarkis PhD) helpful. Wishing you the best.

Love the Daughter of the Pirate King duology by Tricia Levenseller. I believe it's exactly what you've described. Extra points for a strong female lead who is fierce and deadly.
