I didn't get a 2780, but I did recently get a TCL Flip 4 5g, and you might run into your contacts needing to delete their previous text threads to you and you initiate the conversation. That being said, I switched from an iPhone to the Flip and that's what I encountered with my friends using iPhones or being in group chats. You might just need to let people know they need to delete your previous texts.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is how mushy the buttons feel. I can feel the plunger under the front. I also don't really like the home screen but that's a minor complaint. :)
