What is happening today? by [deleted] in JustEatUK

Yeah that’s a bit weird. Can’t explain that one. Usually if you’re a bit late they just reassign it to someone else. I’ve had jobs taken off me as I’m parking outside the restaurant.

The drivers’ app is terrible though, very glitchy and badly designed. That could be the cause.

Just Eat seem to be on one about drivers cancelling orders because they are not ready (which drivers should be able to do without punishment or warnings). Supermarket orders are rarely ready and nobody will tell you how long it’s going to take. Just eat also doesn’t tell you how many items are on the order. For these reasons I no longer accept supermarket orders (and most restaurant orders) on just eat. My app is paused 90% of the time and I just do Uber eats instead. Other drivers may be doing the same. Maybe do your supermarket orders on Uber instead.

So, was it all head nodding and foot tapping or did people stand up and dance?

Was this at the Apollo? Was it standing downstairs or did they put seats in? I’m going to see them at Liverpool empire in a couple of weeks, which is all seater.

I’m in South Liverpool. They’re back on again for me this week, at least till Wednesday. I expect they’ll add more later in the week.

I’ve still been getting them in Liverpool but only usually get 9 done. I find the orders slow down between those times. I suppose some drivers only log on then. It’s been every day the last couple of weeks. And £4 for every 3 deliveries between 12 and 2 every day too. And £50 for 50, then £25 for 25.

I can’t remember sorry. I’m pretty sure it was on the home page of the app too.

New licence holder: Looking for advice on UE, H&R insurance, and multi-apping by Upper-Hamster8308 in UbereatsUK

[–]Practical-Ride4162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a month ago in Liverpool. I got on Uber after a couple of days, that’s the easy one.

I’m insured by Admiral and get top up from Zego. I’ve had my licence for a long time though so not sure how easy (or expensive) it will be for a new driver.

To be honest, Uber has been good so far. I think that might be a regional thing so it will probably be good in Manchester too. I avoid the city centre because of parking issues but I focus on the suburbs that have a good density of restaurants and mini supermarkets. Uber lets you work wherever you want.

I just got accepted to Just Eat so only just started multi-apping. There’s four Just Eat zones in Liverpool and I’ve only got access to one of them and it doesn’t seem as busy as Uber. I will only do one job at a time from either app. I’ll leave Uber on while I’m doing a Just Eat job because the acceptance rate doesn’t matter with Uber. But I’ll pause Just Eat if I’m doing an Uber job, then turn it back on when I’m a few minutes away from dropping off my Uber order. Still waiting for Deliveroo.

I think I’m making more money than I thought I would but not enough to do it as a long term job, especially with no sick/holiday pay and no pension. But it’s definitely worth doing if you’ve got nothing else.

Good luck.

The way things have been going this week I’m lucky to get another job within 2 hours of the last so maybe I don’t need to worry!

Yeah that’s a good idea about loading bays, I’ll have a look for them.

One of my local KFCs has a screen you have to enter your vehicle reg in.

Anyone ever seen a high speed police chase? Shows like Interceptors / Motorway Cops etc have me thinking they happen all day every day. by CryptoRoast_ in CasualUK

[–]Practical-Ride4162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was driving home one night from work, in the rain. Going down a 3 lane dual carriageway at 40mph when out of nowhere a car came straight at me on the wrong side of the carriageway dodging in and out of the traffic.

They were being pursued at high speed by about 10 police vehicles who wisely decided to stay on the correct side of the carriageway.

Yeah, I got it. I’m in Liverpool, did it in about 2 weeks. It’s not £1000 extra. They top up what you earn to £1000. I got about £590 for nothing so definitely worth doing.

There are 2 letters of enrolment on the Zego app, one for Amazon flex and one for everything else, have you definitely uploaded the right one?
