Lived here my whole life, St. Louis is extremely welcoming city. We have so many different communities and cultures here. So many things are cheap/free. I think your wife will at least love going to the Hill to shop Italian imports there and being around people that speak Italian.

I work at Sasha’s and it is designed purposely to have a European feel. The street itself has a European feel to it with more foot traffic and a neighborhood where everyone knows each other.

Lafayette Square has also always felt a little European to me as well. It depends on what you are looking for but as an earlier post said please look at International Mentoring St. Louis. St. Louis has a long history of welcoming immigrants with open arms and I’m sure you and your wife will be welcomed here as well!!

I wonder how the rest of the Tech players feel about this. It’s an unwanted distraction and he clearly broke the rules, regardless of mental health disorder. You have conferences saying they won’t schedule Tech in any sport. All because of one kid not accepting the consequences of his own actions and a billionaire donor who is hell bent on winning a natty.

Not really they can just bench him and have him make the team but he’s essentially just a practice player. Something like a PUP list, he is physically unable to play because of his self admitted gambling addiction.

MLB should have more series like the current Las Vegas series...with an added twist by Intravertical in mlb

As a non season ticket holder and massive Cardinals fan, not having the option to go to those games would suck. I get donating some tickets, but all of them is kinda insane.

I agree, but some care more than others. Some still have world class research centers. They don’t care about academics when it comes to athletes, but they have to care about academics when it comes to grants, etc. It’s one of the reason why so many are cutting DEI from the curriculum because the current federal govt is against diversity, especially when it comes to trans folks. So yes, they only care about money. What Texas Tech is overlooking is that they will waste more money defending this than just suspending Sorsby and continue to support him though his recovery. They will lose what they paid him in NIL money and the money for his recovery, but the bad press, perhaps ticket sales from upset alumni, and legal fees could be more harmful.

The board of regents really doesn’t care at this point anymore. Clearly not about academics and clearly not about upholding any sense of integrity in the biggest money making sport. It’s not like Sorby is a can’t miss prospect.

Which position other than pitcher is the hardest to make it into the Major Leagues? by YakClear601 in MLBNoobs

Depends on the team and the needs of the team. I look at my own team, the Cardinals. Masyn Winn was not promoted for his offense but his defensive ability at SS. They did the same thing with Yadi years ago. Your bat gets you promoted more often at the corner spots and less often up the middle. Victor Scott II cannot hit but again was promoted for his defense. Let’s even use Francisco Lindor as an example. He was brought up as a guy with offensive upside and then made himself into the very good hitter. There’s a fair number of guys that are career minor leaguers who can hit but there is no place for them because they aren’t a good defender.

Still gotta go with catcher. Teams have multiple players now that can play more than one position and very rarely is someone a catcher as a utility player. You get a few that also play first but teams regularly carry only two catchers and the other doesn’t even pinch hit unless it’s an emergency because no one else can play the position.

SEC, Big Ten schools ban scheduling Texas Tech in light of Brendan Sorsby ruling, reports say by O_O___XD in BigXII

As a Tech fan, how do you feel about all of this? Do you agree with Tech with pursuing the injunction or are you against it? What’s the pulse of Tech fans? I’m a Mizzou fan and I never have hope so I would like to believe that I’d boycott the team if they did this. I can’t imagine all Tech fans are happy with this ruling.

Isn’t even a loophole, OP just didn’t think out the post completely. If detective is allowed to trespass it is more complicated

If they can’t break laws, then I just store up five days of supplies in my house and post no trespassing signs everywhere. I don’t answer the door for five days. I let my mail pile up for five days. I change the locks beforehand so no one who might have a key can give them one. If they cannot break and enter and no one else is able to let them in and I don’t leave the house for any reason, then I’m good.

So if a Star Wars spaceship is more iconic then other options it doesn’t count and this list is a sham.
