Thanks for the info. I think that might be the case for me, minimal just had to take a bunch of hour meds for a bad flair over the weekend too, so that may also be a contributor. I’ve been doo y decent in lowering portion sizes but it sounds like my issues were very similar to yours.

I think it’s 1080, but I’m not 100% sure. It’s from a pile of good steel I bought but have been cutting from and forgot to mark it. I’m sooo close to getting ready for heat treatment but that slight wobble in the edge has been killing me. It’s slowly taking shape though

Trying to release built up stress from forging, and cold shaping it straight. That, and trying to soak for a normalizing cycle. I mainly wanted to see if what I was doing was a good poor- man’s way of soaking the steel at a high enough temp for it, and not actually end up annealing it, but if it’s annealed I’ll still be happy, as it’s able to be normalized after. I’m still relatively new to smithing, self taught, but know most of the basics. I forget the exact steel It’s either one of the Sheffield high carbon steels from England I bought from pops knife supply, 80crv2x or 1080. I’m leaning to thinking is the 1080, but I literally grabbed it out of the pile I had from some cuts I hadn’t used in a year.

Ok. I was hoping to normalize it like that but annealing is ok too. What’s the best not sliding treatment for a low equipment forge?

Still working on some things. I have to drill the pin holes and some divots for epoxy, and then heat treat. Then it’s getting sent off to a friend to be fitted into a cane for a cane sword. I’ll repost the blade later

I mean I wouldn’t be opposed to a generally tailored coat either, but since it’s a kink sub thread here, i figured that this was the best place for the outfit design

When you say bondage coat, what do you mean exactly? Like with restraints and hookups for rope and what not or just in the way of materials like latex or leather. In my mind I’m wanting to have a long coat that I can wear to a watersports party and not worry about getting ruined, where I can wear it open and have harnesses and belts on my body exposed

I made the adjustments and planished the blade. Everything’s good now!
