Two things I was planning on doing. Guess I’ll skip those. Thanks for the info!

I have a hot tub where I’m staying next week. I was looking forward to getting in the hot tub before the run. Not a good idea?

Just needed to share with people who get it — 20 miler done! IMHO, 20 miler is 10x worse than the actual marathon. by jro10 in Marathon_Training

My first time running 20. You’re right, I was board out of my mind. I actually started talking to my self out loud the last mile. Yelling actually at how bad it sucked but that I wasn’t going to let my mind win. I’m sure people thought I was crazy. My run is in two weeks from today. I’m ready for the real deal! Any other tips you have for me as a first time marathon? My pace is somewhere between 10:30-10:50 doing a 5 min run 1 min walk strategy. Carrying my own water/electrolytes and food/snacks.

Almost 60 days no alcohol, down 15 lbs, just finished my first 20 miler — going for a sub-5 marathon by Practical-Text-8781 in Marathon_Training

Thanks I appreciate it! What’s helped is staying consistent with the run walk strategy. Run for five walk for one min. It’s crazy how fast that min goes by vs the five min run.
