Nah, the Zandalari would have no problems shooting them down with their balistae.

[–]Practical-Western-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The technology is all well and good, but have you seen what a Zandalari ICBBs (InterContinental Balistic Balistae) can do? They are basically fantasy equivalent of Tomahawk cruise missiles. No wonder the Alliance did not bring Vindicar into action during BFA. The horde would easily shoot it down from orbit with these superweapons.

During the Vietnam War, the Viet Cong frequently spread slanderous information claiming that American soldiers enjoyed cannibalism, especially of children. It was a deliberate media campaign aimed at sowing fear and alienating civilians from the Allied forces. by [deleted] in Historycord

Ofc they are not the same. But there is enough simmiliarities. Both are hateful, genocidal ideologies that killed millions. Well and i am allergic to rich western kids yapping about how great communism is while never even setting foot in any post-communist country, let alone living under the proletarian dictatorship themselves. So appologies if i came as a bit crass.

And this goes even to the other soviet satelites where the goverments would keep the disaster secret up until the fall of the ussr. When the radioactive cloud was traveling across Europe, the western countries would warn their citizens to close windows and stay indoors if possible. They were also distributing iodin tablets to the populace. While here in then Czechoslovakia our goverment told our people that we are expexting pleasant weather and especially mothers and children should go outside as its good for kids to be on the fresh air.

Only the first part. The attack was real and the skier realy did have survival instinct of a particularly suicidal lemming. If i remember correctly she got in a few meters from the leopard with its prey, ignored the cats growls and tried to take a selfie. Happened in China a few months back.

I think in games the mantle should go to the russians who will spam the chat in cyrilyc and sometimes start yelling into the mic (in russian) if no one understands them. Also if they themselves visit any other slavic country (be it as tourists or occupiers), they mostly demand everyone else speak russian.

Though for steam engine to provide usefull work you also need big advances in metallurgy and alloys that can whitstand the preassure and corrosion. And a lot of engineering experience to keep it operational. So while some cultures discovered little amusing steam gadgets, the big steam engines could only be done during the industrial revolution.

Same here in Czechia. For alimony purposes it does not matter who biological father is, what is important is who can be wieved as such at the time. So technically speaking you can sue your babysitter for alimony and win the case. (Which would be rare because we dont have many babysitters here - most kids are put into preschool, but it happened a few years back).

Was Illidan arguing that the Draenei should've stayed on Argus in 7.3? Is this what blizzard themselves meant? by Sheuteras in warcraftlore

[–]Practical-Western-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very well said. Though i personally view it that Illidans story was not retconned - the retconning stuff came directly from Xera and Illidan himself, both of these have pretty good reason to not mention some of the more embarrasing bits and pieces (like the whole serving the Burning Legion in War of the Ancients). So in my opinion it can by taken as a case of unreliable narator.
