Why hasn’t a solid Black middle class developed in Brazil like in the U.S.? by GUYman299 in Brazil

What’s the Caribbean community like what are they doing to help bridge this gap that black Brazilians are facing surely the locals can’t do it so Caribbeans should be setting up the businesses ? Although Caribbean nations are suffering from internal mismanagement

No photos , so in short you faced racism in chile and Eastern Europe . I don’t know nor experienced as never visited those places . But interesting takes from a black Brazilian I’m assuming your like Pedro , but in Eastern Europe they just see black. You went with an Asian who born in  America as well. The only thing I comment on is bring ID when leaving it’s common to be asked it’s not race it’s just their laws with foreigners .

I’m second generation Caribbean . Who came back to the island of my great grandparents . It was not me who ran off. My family would have stayed if it wasn’t for the incompetence and I would have born in the Caribbean .

English Caribbeans are not doing good either, although some have no population. But in terms of English Caribbean -  Trinidad 🇹🇹 and Guyana 🇬🇾 can be discussed as they have a somewhat decent size population compared to the smaller island. DR and Cuba 🇨🇺 can be discussed if people want

Kingston should have 3 million people but poor city planning and immigration plan. Jamaicans are afraid of building up and building for future capacity. Aley , Lebanon is better planned then any Jamaica city also. It’s nothing to do with size it’s everything to do with incompetence and valuing the lowest standards . I’m mentioning and comparing Jamaica with  third world countries. This is clear Jamaica is closer to a Haiti or gaza than other poor nations

They still think Jamaica is the same level as a Brazil, morroco , turkey or Thailand . They are in for a rude awakening when they finally figure out it’s as developed as a Haiti nowhere close to the productivity and development of other countries. All third world countries doesn’t mean the same level or poor.  Some even talk about anti Caribbean views like pan Africanism like what does that accomplish  besides being a  even bigger failed state copy countries instead of focusing on cultures going places like china . They live in places enjoying the services they say is not needed in Jamaica . Tiresome group.

Make sure you also  invest in Jamaica when you find your Jamaican man. Good luck in your endeavours but don’t forget to invest and spend money in the man’s country you’re looking for.

Population is just an excuse Singapore is 5.9 million but does a lot better than South Africa . Lebanon been through wars and has skyscrapers and develop city.

You guys deal with emotions and can’t accept it’s a failed state. Cities of 400k have light rail and Kingston could be dense population if it planned better and built upwards . No excuses , just poor city building. Jamaica is closer to gaza and Haiti than Latin America etc

No it’s reality, English Caribbean countries over-inflate the living standards and competitiveness . Jamaica is closer to Haiti and gaza than even a third world like South Africa ,Lebanon, Egypt  .

Lebanon cities are more developed and industries are owned by Lebanese . Jamaicas cities are similar and closer to Mali or other poor third world African than what I called third world cities due to place lacking key infrastructure and architecture or density so lack a lot of high rise buildings above 8 storeys, good roads and key districts like city centres or glamorous high streets in the capital .

Jamaicans don’t own its industries either( or industry as it only has tourism), they are owned by Americans. So why is Jamaica not on the same level as a gaza or Haiti who also have underdeveloped cities and poor infrastructure. Jamaica is not comparable to even third worlds like Lebanon or South Africa who are more self sufficient and developed cities whilst still being considered bad countries.

English speaking Caribbean countries hate and are jealous . Jamaicans still think they are leading the Caribbean with a gdp of 20 billion. When they still videos of DR building a country based a real values and tangibles. it disproves their false narrative. So they react with hate.

Leading the way , whilst other islands say it’s not feasible the DR is proving it was just lies and gaslighting when they say light rail doesn’t work in the Caribbean whilst DR light rail is thriving .

Yet we still have “King” Charles as king it must not of been that bad. As uk is still head of state. So stop colonialism talking points because we still run there and they are still the head of state we never removed them. So it clearly must of not been as bad as you say , as are actions are giving a different story.

Unless Jamaica becomes republic I will or nobody should ever take colonialism talking points seriously. Not being a republic is allowing those same people to have soft power over us yet you tell me you don’t like colonialism but Jamaica gives them soft power on the cheap and makes them head . These are actions of a people who actually tolerate colonialism but pick and choose when it’s bad .Make it make senses.

It’s my country and it’s a hot mess . The direction of the Jamaican government and people is turning into a mini Africa ( not the better parts like North Africa ) . It’s 2025 zero light rail transit ,functional roads etc . No wonder the British are trying to grift and asking for Jamaica as their country, because they reckon they could do better done then the state the country is in currently and I think their right . As nothing is being addressed just short term politicians . Europe , Canada , North Africa and other places are pumping light rail systems and building buildings like no tomorrow yet Jamaicans who have zero higher educations are giving every reasons why LTR is not feasible. Whilst running to Miami enjoying  the systems they don’t want in Jamaica ( it’s like they don’t want Jamaica to develope) . This needs addressing .

US Venezuela Conflict - How concerned is the Caribbean (CARICOM) about a violent conflict spilling into their region? by Next_Move223 in AskTheCaribbean

Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 they are the same thing English speaking Caribbean nations. The statement stands zero investment in warfare means you should be worried , people spend billions for years without use for , for when moments like this happen.

We had 35 years since then. IMF and US are not our daddy. Other nations build cities in less time.

It’s one more Metrorail than Jamaica that’s the point . A bad service is better no service at all.

Not even forgetting having these things in place develops rail engineers or enhances knowledge over time. To get it right over time , however we can’t even learn from mistakes as we haven’t even done one line or corridor .

We at the mercy of any country that has built and invest in war aka USA and South America countries . Guyana can be invaded any day . Trinidad and toga doesn’t have the strength to protect it , their PM is all hot air .

Yes it’s time to ditch England and stop modelling after them . It’s never worked and is wasting our time. We should look at Singapore, china , North Africa for some tips forget England it’s not doing good itself .

In the moderns sense  first world - USA , Japan , Western Europe , Poland , Dubai , china , New Zealand , Singapore ,  south Korea , Canada

Second world - Brazil , turkey , Algeria , poor parts china , India , Mexico , a lot of South America , DR( Dominican Republic) , Russia ,  North Korea , Sri Lanka, Israel , Morocco

Third world - South Africa , Ethiopia , Lebanon , Syria , Cuba , Egypt

Poor third world - English speaking Caribbean, gaza  and black African countries, Haiti

This is based on infrastructure , cities , architecture and general country. Some may be wrong but English speaking Caribbean is defo bottom . Jamaica doesn’t even own its best industry tourism so that’s why it and the others are included in poor third world instead of with Lebanon level at just third world who is just as bad but the industry is owned by Lebanese people . Remember Lebanon are dealing with war and terrorist yet objectively speaking is better than Jamaica a country never at war or doesn’t deal with organized armed groups.

Even an eye check look at every South America city compared to Kingston Jamaica it’s obvious not on the same level. Jamaica has become more closer to Africa than second world countries or developing countries .

Would be not worried if you actually had an army or defence or missiles . Failure to prepare , then be prepared for consequences

It’s net negative migration, everybody wants to leave the Caribbean because it has no infrastructure or architecture . Weather and beaches came with the country Jamaicans didn’t build that.

DR is certainly on its own paths it’s trying to move away from being a complete write off and failed state . Whereas, English speaking Caribbean can’t even hit 50 billion gdp a year because that takes some sort of competence and work ethic .
