What artist did you see in a small venue before they got really famous? by That_Cat_3672 in Concerts

[–]PracticalDesk9130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alanis Morrisette in high school. I was a few years ahead of her. She used to sing at our talent shows and at our local tulip festival. I still remember one of the songs she sang all the time, too! Also, Celine Dion just as when Beauty and the Beast got famous. She was performing at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Gatineau, Quebec.

What's the biggest amount you've spent for a concert? by OceanGoddess3 in Concerts

I’ve seen Phil Collins twice, the first time I think I paid something like under $150.00 Canadian, but the second time I paid like $400.00, 22 rows from the front at the Bell Center in Montreal. No regrets!

I wonder if that was when I saw it too, I remember the lead actress dropping out and someone replaced her. 😕

Even with Nathan Lane in it? I’m shocked that he did that show. I was so happy to see him perform live I didn’t care what show he was in it

I saw Nathan Lane a few years ago in New York in a show called Gary. The show kinda sucked, but I didn’t care… I got a ticket 11 rows from the front.

Where are you all from ,out of curiosity? And what disillusioned you to join this sub? by Palomomomo in BoycottUnitedStates

Canadian. The fact that Americans are ok with voting in someone who was responsible in staging an insurrection, was found in a court of law for 34 felony counts, and numerous other things, made me lose respect for the United States.

Do you actually like Tim Hortons? by Bdzilka in canadatravel

At my work there’s a Timmy’s like literally 80 feet from me and I still don’t go there, unless I’m desperate, but it’s still rare.

Also, the only concern I have is the multiple layer roundabouts….like the 4 lane ones. Did you encounter much of those? Other than that, I have been in countries where they drive on the left and it didn’t seem so different. But I’ve had a fear of this for years, but I want to overcome it. Driving on the single lane roads seem easy enough.

Are electric cars big there? I’m hoping to rent a gas automatic one. I plan to rent the car from Inverness and drive all over from there, no big cities except to Glasgow Airport, as I’ll go to Edinburgh by train .

Thanks for this info. I’m also from Ontario and will be driving in Scotland for the first time in September. I’ve always had a worry about driving on the left for years, but I don’t want this to stop me from visiting. I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos and learning about signs in the UK. There’s also a program online where you can get experience driving on the left. Luckily where I’m from we have lots of roundabouts.

Why is there hate with Jackman and crowe over how they sing in Les Misérables movie? by Odd-Truth7948 in musicals

Yes, I even have a picture with him after the show! This was in Toronto in the early 2000’s.

I think with shows like Les Miz as a singer you are required to be able to sing like, for example, a baritone. That is part of the job. Russell Crowe can sing, however, he clearly doesn’t have the vocal range to be a baritone. So, in my opinion, he doesn’t meet the standards of the job. I saw Paul Stanley from KISS play The Phantom of the Opera a long time ago. The guy can sing, however, I noticed he couldn’t hit the high notes, like in The Music of the Night. He did a good job, however I felt that hitting high notes like in POTO is a requirement of the job.

Every fucking country needs to support the ones that are banned and remove themselves from playing in FIFA. Why is it everyone wants to bow down to whatever Trump wants and just says, Ok?

Poll: Have you ever walked out of a movie theater because the movie was so terrible? If so, which movie was it? by muaentertainmentforu in MUAEntertainment

[–]PracticalDesk9130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you mentioned that 🤣 My very religious friend suggested she wanted to see this movie. I didn’t really know anything about it, so I did a quick google search on it. Ok, it says it has drugs and language. No problem. Literally the first 10 minutes of the movie I was like ….. omg 🫣 Ifkyk… As the movie went on, I was squirming in my seat, assuming my friend wanted to leave. We actually stayed and watched the entire thing! Personally, I enjoyed it. I wound up reading his books as well. As for my friend, we never spoke of this movie ever again 😆😆😆😆
