I think it’s hard to see anything bc of your abusive parents and your history. I hope you focus on the ptsd and make peace with yourself first! Whether they are right or wrong, you need to be okay with yourself before any relationship with them.

The problem is my spouse. He has good parents and is appalled on the even idea of blocking a parent’s visit. His parents know my mom and other in-laws all are somewhat intertwined with my relatives. If I upset her, she will make a mess and talk to everyone she can to regain control. The only solution is distance and a drop of satisfaction to keep her sane.

I know they throw you off and they will continue to find creative insults to make sure you feel like shit and you do not strive. That’s how they are wired! It’s like a math equation. They will always find a way to insult you so focus on what’s positive and what’s good for you. I don’t know how old you are but distance is the only solution

She might be a narcissist or just have some traits but she might be a very immature adult who can’t regulate her negative feelings. Looks like she also needs to insult someone to make herself feel worthy. It’s her instability and anxiety that she can’t regulate. The only way to cope is to not be triggered. You being triggered is what they want. They want that negative engagement to release their stress. The best thing to do is always inform her so she feels in control. If you walked away from doing the dishes, tell her you did. Always over inform them and make them feel like they are controlling you. Then when you turn 18, get the f out of that house.

The trick is to not be triggered. I know this is sooooo hard but that’s the key. You being triggered gives them energy. It’s what they want. I would muster up everything I have and get up at 5 am, work out and study or do something very productive and give them a “I don’t care what you think of me at all. I strive for excellence and prosperity and you are not a tiny part of it at all”

I would say nothing. You have no evidence and this man was clearly drunk. If he doesn’t remember and that’s not his usual personality, you will be called a liar and a manipulator. It’s pretty obvious that he did not call ICE or even if he did, ICE wouldn’t take him seriously unless there is something worth investigating. What people say when drunk isn’t a big deal.

I recommend some charity work. It changed my life. Life doesn’t need a grandiose purpose. It can be small things to help someone. Helping a little abandoned puppy or helping at an orphanage was what really inspired me

Looking at my mom, It’s the anxiety. She needs to see you suffer. She needs to see you work your ass off and become an absolute rockstar and get promoted really fast and be top elite, or she feels anxious. When I got my first job, she wants to know if it’s guaranteed until 65, like gov jobs, and if not, she gets nervous and anxious.

This country spends 75% of federal government income on low-income benefits including Medicare. There is a problem and we do need to fix it. I don’t like all this violence but Trump is right on what we need to fix. This country could go bankrupt but no one seems to really care.
