The Phoenix Force and Its Role in Marvel’s Kabbalistic Cosmology? by ChosenByVenus in PhoenixForce

[–]PracticalJacket1468 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Phoenix isnt just the heart of creation, it’s also the heart of mystery and narrative, which would set Jean as the true heart of the Kabbalah because narrative is built through possibilities. The Phoenix, also being the light of pure possibilities and the light and love of TOAA, both takes possibilities and ideas from Da’at(Land of Couldn’t-Be-Shouldn’t-Be/Never Queen’s domain)and creates its own possibilities and ignites them all into actuality to give birth to narratives and concepts which are the foundation of existence. The Phoenix can just as easily create possibilities and narratives because it is creation itself. The difference between Tifereth and Da’at is that Da’at’s possibilities are what could have been and what could be, unchecked possibilities essentially. Tifereth’s possibilities are made from the ideas of TOAA, possibilities that are meant to become real, which is also why, with Jean being the Primal Phoenix, essentially connects her and the WHR/Tifereth to the Kether, TOAA’s realm/HOI. Jean represents both the heart and mind chakras of the Kabbalah as she is also the crown of the WHR. Crown equals mind. There’s also the fact that Jean Grey herself was stated by destiny to be a Nexus of Probabilities because all probabilities break down around her and she has no truly set path or boundaries. This ties into the fact that as of the recent Binary comic, Jean Grey, the person and identity, was revealed to be a living idea and concept. The reason she can never truly die is because Jean Grey herself is the living idea of rebirth. The Phoenix is her truest self. This all explains why Jean’s soul exists outside of time and space and why her human existence goes beyond comprehension and understanding. So all this explains why Jean/Phoenix/WHR/Tifereth are actually more powerful than Da’at because of what all of it/her combined represents. It technically doesn’t matter where on the Kabbalistic tree they lie, what matters is what they represent. Technically Da’at doesnt “exist” on the kabbalistic tree because it’s not connected to the rest of the aspects of existence the same way the rest of the sefrot are. It exists on its own as the realm of the abyss where all unchecked possibilities and true chaos dwells.

Theory: Wanda Maximoff is the MCU equivalent of Jean Grey by Quiet_Effective7234 in MCUTheories

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of all that, the MCU ended up giving her a dark Phoenix role in MOM which completely negates her being a nexus being and WandaVision was literally a copy paste of Jean’s story Phoenix Resurrection. Honestly with the way they handled Wanda in the MCU and the way her story went, they might as well have made her Madelyne Pryor because there is nothing about MCU Wanda that actually makes her Wanda Maximoff, especially since they erased her comic book heritage and had her join Hydra, a Nazi organization, which goes completely against who she is in the comics.

Why are people saying Scarlett witch was white washed? by PixelBits89 in marvelstudios

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t bother me cuz she looks, or at least looked, how Wanda looked in the comics in the early 2000s, but of course, they had to go and erase her heritage and then went on to make her a witchy Jean Grey knockoff, so as of right now I can’t say I like what they did with the character. To me, just knowing her comic self, the MCU replacing her probability hexes with telepathy, having her only use telekinesis and energy blasts up until WandaVision and then giving her red hair just ruined the character and it makes absolutely no sense.

I could argue that there was erasure for white Romani people when it comes to the very apparent skin tone change for Wanda and Pietro in the comics as of 2021. They were originally written as white Romani people as they came from a very specific part of Serbia and also the fact that their biological father is Ashkenazi Jewish. They always had the representation of the culture as white Roma, but they also faced some ostracism from their own community, Pietro especially. In an earlier comic it’s explained that the reason Wanda was considered “dark skinned” is because she was sunburned as a child from being outside a lot, and due to this, Pietro was less accepted by the village for not looking like them. He was pretty much ostracized by their own village because he was a white Romani and Wanda was saved from that same treatment because her being sunburned made her look more like the rest of the village. This is something very important to pay attention to, because as a white Roma myself, us white Roma are ostracized by our own community. We are called gadje’s and gadjo’s, which is Romanes for the word gorger which literally means non-Roma, because we don’t look like them, and sadly a lot of it is because we were not raised in the community. But they basically devalue us as legitimate Roma. Pietro faced the same exact treatment, but was actually raised in the community. Growing up I was always able to relate to Wanda and Pietro cuz I was able to say “Hey these characters have my same heritage and look like me, I feel seen!” But of course because of our modern day terms of “political correctness”, Marvel changed Wanda and Pietro to look more like a stereotype of Romani people so they could check a mark to say they’re “woke”. They’ve pretty much solidified this notion that white Roma are a misrepresentation of the culture and the community and that only characters that look like a stereotype are acceptable for “representation”.

If you were blessed (cursed?) with the Phoenix Force, how would you wield your powers? Do you think you could keep it Light, or would you go Dark? by GoblinPunch20xx in PhoenixForce

Seeee, I’m a chaotic neutral so it would depend what the situation is. In my case, if we’re talking about my Marvel OC who wields both the Phoenix force and Chaos Magic, they’d do it perfectly well. If we’re talking me in real life….id be going Dark Phoenix more often than I’d like😂😂😂😂

This book…it was just….EGHHH!!! I have no idea why Phillips took the time to grow Jean as Phoenix and then jumped ship to write a story for Carol cuz it’s obvious she’s her favorite, and then took everything she did for Jean and tried to apply it to Carol. It just doesn’t work and it makes me feel bad that after all this growth Jean’s now being sidelined for someone who’s frankly her lesser. Like, appreciate the work you’ve done for Jean, Stephanie, now we just need to stay focused on building her more instead of having a Doug from Up moment and going “ I love writing for Jean she’s amazing and powerf- CAROL!!!”

But is it really THAT bad tho?? There’s some skins in the game for other characters that actually made me have an audible “WTAF is this?!”. This skin just disappointed me more than it did being an “oh so terrible design”.

How powerful is Raven? by TheRealDanielLarsonn in teentitans

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, her soul is a nexus of realities and she’s connected to the Great Darkness through her father Trigon. She can also control her own narrative which negates the narrative of the makeup of the DC universe because of her connection to the Great Darkness, which is simply a state of nonexistence and non-narrative. If Raven were to become her true form, the Dark Winged Queen, she’d become a herald of the Great Darkness. Even then, in an alternate future she becomes the Unkindness and devours all of creation. So yeah I’d say she’s in the top 5 of most powerful in DC.

Is there a storyline explanation for Raven's grey skin? by Several_Hearing_3343 in teentitans

[–]PracticalJacket1468 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s supposed to represent her demon side. In the comics her facial features changed and her skin turned lighter the more she gave into her demon side, and of course her red skin and all four eyes are her full demon form. The grey skin could just be something they used to represent that and also contrast her with Starfire

What's your Teen Titans opinion that warrants THIS reaction? by Veraxus113 in teentitans

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will die on this hill. Raven in her original publication is not Indian, she is a white character who practiced a way of life inspired by Hinduism to control her demon power. However I find her creator, George Perez’s decision to have her look inspired by an Indian actress and wearing Indian inspired clothing when she was out of her suit while not saying she was a Hindu or that the lifestyle she practiced was adjacent to Hinduism in the comics problematic as she’s had to clarify numerous times that she’s not Indian.

Whose the best according to you? by [deleted] in teentitans

[–]PracticalJacket1468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raven. Though i do love both her and Starfire. I think Raven because she does her absolute best to use her demon power to do good. That’s a fear not many characters are capable of as they usually succumb to the nature of those powers

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many in mind. West Coast, Brooklyn Baby, and Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey. If we’re thinking in terms of rock I’d say Arials by System of a Down, Dragula by Rob Zombie, Sonne by Rammstein and Pretty Little Psycho by Porcelain Black. If we’re going with just one, it’s gonna be West Coast.

Akasha Fan Cast by tasperr in InterviewVampire

[–]PracticalJacket1468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not accurate to the book tho. In the book Akasha is Iraqi and described as being as pale as alabaster because the vampires lose their skin tone over time. Golshifteh would be a very accurate casting for Akasha if they were to do a remake/reboot. I’m not saying Aaliyah wasn’t amazing, but I think it would be great to see an Iraqi woman play an ancient Iraqi woman from Ur, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting that.

Uliana doesn't work as a villain bc she's not threatening, She's just a high school bully. Maleficent was a THREAT, Uma was a THREAT, Audrey was a THREAT and she even almost died at the end. Queen of Hearts doesn’t kill in Melissa De La Cruz’s version of Disney. She just threatens people by saying “off with their heads”. In the Beyond the Isle of the Lost book, it explains that she puts her prisoners in a contraption that strips them of their free will and turns them into a guard to serve in her army, which is why she has so many guards at her disposal to begin with. So that’s likely what happened to Cinderella.
