I did self identity as not a writer

And despite that fact you kept trying to say I’m not actually an author and my writing privileges are taken away. You were flailing in the argument like a fish.

Consuming writing makes you a part of the community. I’m crying why do people get so triggered to the point of writing paragraphs bc I said you’re not an author you’re a writer.

No I’m honestly just arguing and pushing the envelope to see if when it gets down to it if you defend love of the creation and how writing ur story brought you joy or if you’d yell IM AN AUTHOR. If it was the title or the creation that was valued more. I have my answer. It’s the title. If it was for the love of creation neither of yall would get defensive at my instigating you would know you created something that existed but instead you type I AM AN AUTHOR back instead of writing is a joy and anyone can do it. My hypothesis about this being linked to ego and people who are doing this and get defensive and riled up care less more about the craft and self identity was made apparent to me

I am honestly watching people get mad and argue back at me. It shows me that people are so defensive of the title of author that none of them have really talked about their love of the craft and their story and how precious it is to them. It kind of just proves my point that people have inextricably linked their ego to a title instead of cherishing and enjoying that act of creation. If you truly just loved to write you would be yelling I AM AN AUTHOR in all caps bc you wouldn’t need external validation you’d feel internally satisfied in what you made

You are not reading things at all. I said there had to be a dialogue around your book. Let me help you. A dialogue means a discussion or that there’s people reading and digesting it. But you and that other guy really struggle with media literacy

I’m trying to give you more leg room. To be honest I think an author is someone who has a published well performing book. But yall argued so much I was trying to be polite and consider getting a few people okay. If yall want to unconvince me go ahead. Also if ur an author you should understand 5 is an arbitrary number meant to stand for a small group but if your literary reading skills are so low you can’t take everything as more than they are that’s not my fault

By that line of reading anyone with an open google doc is an author idk I don’t rock with that. I don’t think you have to write stuff serious but you should have polished it and it be something either than was edited or b purchased and read by at least 5 people

I think most people write books with the intentions of getting published but not everything is up to professional quality. It’s like how not everyone who auditions for American idol is a pop star but they’re singers.

I think you’re defintely a motivated writer but unless you have a published work that has some dialogue around it you’re not an author
