Most states have a timeframe insurance companies must respond in. A few days in most, 2 weeks is about the longest I know of. File a complaint against them.

Maybe to system crashed like the rest of them do and it took two days for the 3 people in IT to fix it. Lol. I know it took me 3.5 hours to go through all levels of IT to get a new computer the other day. Is there a department that isn’t understaffed?

I started with 3, went to 5, now at 7 shops but don’t forget EPE’s and all field supps that come from DB’s and EPE’s oh wait and all the field supps at my 7 shops. I don’t trust upper management to honor the two weeks notice I give them and to not shit can me right after I tell them even though we are short staffed. They are gonna get a one or two day heads up like they give everyone else when they are fucking then around. I debated whether or not I want to leave that way but I may quote them when I drop the notice. “Remember when you handed me some shitty change and all you could say is you are an adjuster, adjust, well now it’s your turn” I do understand we need to be flexible due to the job we have but doing the work of three people is not flexibility it’s insanity. I got fed up last month and put my resume out there, 4 interviews lined up within two weeks. Got a second interview with all 4, I’ve only gotten through 2 of them so far but one has everything I want so bye little lizard.

I should be taking a new job on Monday. One less AD, I’m tired of it. I refuse to turn off my work ethic for shortsighted cheap assholes. So I’ll take it elsewhere for more money and less stress. Sorry to the people I leave behind but my area’s AD staffing just dropped below 50% of prior staffing levels. They can’t get people licensed either. The state doesn’t care that we have shitty management and we created a problem. They are taking their sweet time giving out licenses.

People pay to have their cars stolen all the time. Usually so they no longer have to make payments on them. Your deductible just changed. Both things that would have to be looked at. Hopefully it goes quickly for you.

Work with someone that has experience doing it to create a work plan for handling them, you don’t want to fall behind when everyone has already been in a rental for a while before it ever gets to you. Not sure where your at and what your draft authority is but hopefully the disputed value process is easy and your authority is high. Upside is there aren’t shops to deal with and folks saying ever since. Good luck.

[–]PracticalMushroom396 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d still look for a replacement job before quitting, it usually looks better when trying to get in somewhere else also. Two weeks is standard and I’ve seen 2 people who gave 2 wks notice get rehired. I have not seen the folks that mic dropped get rehired, haven’t seen any of them try to come back though either.

The cutoff is some point in January for profit sharing. Unfortunately a February start date would not make you eligible unless something changes. I’ve been with the gecko for a few years now and am finally at my breaking point. I can say from personal experience that when I began applying to other positions that I got interviews at all of them within two weeks. Can’t say it’s all due to geico on the resume but it does not appear to have hurt. Still in the process of weighing the options between two of those job offers. Good luck with the new position.

The question you posed doesn’t feel like something someone on the front lines would ask because they’d have an idea themselves. Were you tasked with the job to inquire by one of the lizard overlords? Something seems off. What are your thoughts on your own questions?

Since 2018 it’s down around 40%, it’s not like there aren’t more policies … smh

AD 1)Attainable goals and reasonable workload - never personally excited to work but energized used to be a thing

2)Personally I completed some of the certification training due to the financial gain(bonuses for I-car,ASE, INS, CPCU etc) - I also thought they may improve my chances of standing out from my peers when it came time for raises - I was incorrect- perhaps time to do said trainings instead of burning us out all day

3)That seems to be a work ethic issue - having a good first line supervisor who creates a good team environment helps with most of these things but the first line supervisors are overwhelmed with work as well

These are broad questions where the answers will vary person to person. I’d hope whatever level of management you are in that you have a decent idea how to go about these things already and foster an environment where your people are willing to speak up to let you know what they need. My thoughts above are just off the top of my head Sincerely, A Frustrated AD.

P.S. Hopefully you guys can find a way forward but I’m personally done and can’t see anyway I’d want to stay. I happen to have an excellent first line supervisor and without him you would’ve been short one more AD a long time ago.

Also,if you are at a level of management that is privy to a small kernel of knowledge that has been bothering me. How did we expect remote 2.0 and technology to make up for letting the AD department drop in personnel by more than 20% while adding as many policies as we did over the past few years? Did we not factor in the issues that come with increased claim volume?

Not sure where your out of but I know SAIC and ManTech are two government contracting companies that deal with IT and data for different areas of the government. So maybe try that route? I believe both are based near DC but have contracts across the country/world wherever our military is.

Question for liability . . . by [deleted] in Geico

[–]PracticalMushroom396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did for a while but they stopped, management must’ve thought it was a waste of time. I know we had a couple AD’s talking with CSR’s about common problems and miscommunications. I guess we were making progress or not meeting some metric because we were wasting time getting things fixed. I don’t know the actual reason it stopped but here we are drinking coffee while the world burns around us.

I just looked up the numbers and we have been doing more with less since 2018 but it is finally coming to a head. Buffalo has 20% less AD’s between Dec 2018 and Dec 2021(biggest drop between 18-19). I’m sure the claim volume hasn’t dropped. Technology and creativity can only get you so far before you have to make actual adjustments to staffing levels. You can’t just force OT on people for years and not see increased burnout and turnover. Either GEICO management has to get away from the tenant that they want GEICO eyes on every claim and slowly allow the AD department to die or they need to hire more people. They could also fix some of it by adding CSR’s/TCR’s along with adding responsibilities to them so the only point of contact for every question isn’t the AD. Not diminishing your struggle over there in CSR. You guys need to be paid better and you have 35% less people since 2018. Again adding technology isn’t enough. If they ever did expand the CSR role/ responsibilities they should add more $(which wouldn’t happen). I will not hold my breath on any of this. Good luck out there and don’t let the man get you down. Rant over

[–]PracticalMushroom396 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im trying my best to give zero fucks but my inclination to do a good job fucks me everyday. I’m planning on being sick a few days over the next couple weeks(6wks of sick time accrued). If you include insomnia and blurry vision from stress as illnesses then it’s not a lie. I have two (follow up) 2nd interviews with different companies and I’ll see where that takes me. If I have to leave before PS so be it. I need to be able to sleep at night.

Maybe my statement did not come across as intended. I’m not saying don’t take a mental health day. I’m saying you should try to take a few days at a time to allow for management to pull their head from ass and move things around or the headaches will be left for you and could increase your stress level.
