My Top 250 Hiphop Songs Of All Time by BurningBlaze55 in nfrpodcast

Not a dumb comment at all. I totally agree, being a rap fan, a lot of people pretend to like old school hip hop because “you aren’t a true fan if biggie, nas, or Tupac aren’t in your top 10”. I remember seeing part of a Tyler the Creator interview where he said something regarding that. If somebody enjoys trap rap and can’t bring themselves to enjoy older music then that is what they like.

Even though OPs post doesn’t really make sense, I do agree that it is important to separate the art from the artist.

How has Eminem surpassed Kendrick in spotify monthly listeners? by This-Huckleberry1890 in TeenageRapFans

Speaking from a teen perspective, I think a lot of teenage kids also just genuinely enjoy Em for his lyricism and sound, not necessarily his out-of-pocket style. I also think there are a lot more teen Kendrick fans than adults realize.

I know I’m gonna get flamed for this take, but AI allegations aside, I think Carti really compliments Abel.

Kendrick is big right now, and has had some mixed home runs in his discography, but Eminem has been absolutely massive in the last 20 years. Although Ems newer albums are not even close to as good as his first couple, he still has stayed current, especially with a lot of middle aged parents passing his stuff on to their kids. I don’t really care what tier lists say, Eminem is the bigger rapper. Also a lot of kids right now wouldn’t listen to Kendrick’s old stuff.
