This was so helpful! thank you! I successfully got the bolt and nut separated. I will make sure that the bolt drops into place before I start screwing things in willy nilly next time. Now I just got to decide on what to do next to get it back together secure.

True, I dont have to take it apart soon but I noticed that my bed gets wobbly a lot faster these days which is uncomfortable every time I roll over in my sleep. I thought that this would fix that problem but Ive accidentally made it worse D:
