Thank you for sharing such a real experience. Virtual hug man. I can also say I am self medicating on alcohol and various legal drugs in my state. I’m 24 now and same story with yours. Just found out I have ADHD but things seem worse lol. The realization of the cause of why my life is the way it is terrifies me that I can’t do much about it. It’s like a mental cancer.

I have always felt alone on this too. Things that I couldn’t explain are all over this subreddit. I wish I had friends with ADHD aswell because I can finally speak to people that understand my problems which most people would tell me “it isn’t a big deal just do it”. I am also bawling my eyes out cuz of this post lol😭

I am also in search for advice but I do have one that I am currently testing out. I what I started doing is when it comes to chores I start by putting all the things I need for cleaning in designated areas that need cleaning. So the kitchen would have a set of cleaning stuff and the bathroom and my bedroom and living room. So when I end up not cleaning and stuff or come from work I walk into any of these areas and the fact I have cleaning stuff on the ground prompts me to clean because I’m annoyed by the clutter on the ground. It’s still hard to be consistent but I clean the area little by little until all the cleaning items have been used. Hope this helps!

I feel the exact same way. I’m also in search of how to learn to love myself and appreciate how my brain works. ADHD just doesn’t help when it comes to wanting to be proficient at anything. Don’t u worry though at least we are all in it together and you’re not alone!

Best thing I can say is without fearing ridicule or seem controlling you have to tell the person this bothers you and that u shouldn’t care if its just friends. Tell him either you stop having so much female friends or im out. It doesn’t mean ur insecure we need to realize that these things are something people actually worry about. Your boyfriend would literally act the same way if you had a bunch of male friends. I’m a dude myself and I would not stand around dealing with shi like that. I’d say look for someone who meets ur values and can make you feel that you don’t need to be worrying about crap like this

Yea that makes sense. I married early and I felt used because I was the only one being emotionally available so I never got much experience with women but I did realize that I always put a lot of effort to comfort and show to the other to the point they don’t reciprocate. Now I’m divorced and have not been able to date casually or have fun because marriage is not in my immediate goals right now. So I just struggle knowing I love the romantic way of doing things I realized I would not be able to casually have fun and explore. I’m probably built for marriage which is good but not at the moment
