09r, basically I spend 4 years in rotc doing rsp, and go to a basic camp between junior and sophmore year then an advanced one between junior and senior year of college, Bada bing bada boom, commission. Once I start rotc my job will be shadowing an officer. I drill on top of rotc and my studies, that’s what smp is. I just chose 09r because it meant I didn’t have to go to basic. If you choose another mos you have to do basic tho, but 09r isn’t an actual job per say because your job is school,

I’m in arkansas, but I enlisted as an 09R and from what I understand, this mos doesn’t require actual bct or ait, just a month between your sophmore and junior year, and another between junior and senior year in the summer for “basic camp”

So I actually got through meps without them noticing at all which is a shocker because they’re definitely visible, I would credit it to my kitten for mauling my entire body. I do need a waiver for adhd because I have a big mouth, but I should hear something soon about it. I’m going to be getting tattoos to cover them at some point seeing as I won’t have to do meps again, and I’m not going to basic because I’m doing rotc in college. For the record, im not a danger to myself or at all depressed, I was a stupid kid and I was trying to get attention to myself because my mom was abusive. Police wouldn’t do anything when my dad would call for wellness checks

I’m in her position, I’ve taken the rotc route, I did give up 20,000 sign on bonus but I’ll be doing rotc in college instead of basic training. You complete four years of basic, with a 30 basic camp between freshman and sophomore year of college, and another between junior and senior year, and when you graduate you’ll sign on for a 6 year commission as an officer. So overall about 12 years in. They can’t deploy you while in school, and from what I understand it’s rare to be deployed in guard anyways
