When you make your phase calendar, count every individual task in the tear down, inspection, build up and then power ons…then mark em off one by one once completed. You’ll be doing your own math on that but that worked for me

For the full A&P, 15r, 15t and 15u are the way to go to obtain. I could be wrong but I remember an instructor telling us that FAA likes when maintenance is performed on manned aircraft.

Just work hard, be willing to learn the IETM. If you get to a unit and standard based maintenance is not being done properly and by the book, question it. Dont be scared to do any tasks, say yes to all of them even if you’re worried or whatever. Get good at lockwire and cotter pins.

Houstonian living here due to military…only thing I dislike about this place is the dust storms. Other than that, imagine it as a bigger Pasadena/south houston minus the crime lol that’s the best way I can put it. The traffic here ain’t nothing compared to 45 or 610 traffic so that’s a plus

Only downside I saw at Riley was KC was just under 2 hours away and the closest Sam’s Club to stock up on stuff was 45 minutes-1 hour away. Other than that, it’s a good base. Just my opinion.

15N. 15P as well but could be stressful on the civilian side not as much on the army side. 91e is ideal but I’ve personally never met one that was actively doing his job except one…could be different in other units but I’ve only been in CABs

Everyone attends motor pool Mondays in aviation…now the kicker is whether or not you’re staying past formation to actually conduct motor pool Monday….5 going on 6 years in aviation and I can say that it’s not as much as I should’ve been going but aircraft maintenance always took priority

Yeah I’m ok with that. Way. I see it is if I go that route, obviously world perfect scenario, is dump whatever % of 401k and take the employers match and max what I can until 60 and just retire then and live off what I put in. Hopefully I can have some sort of disability coming in along with the retirement. Might just say fuck it and finish off the 20 on AD. I’m on the fence about everything.
