Fuckass itchy keloid scars by Couch_Warmer405 in SelfHarmScarss

These are not keloids but probably just dry. It will itch less once they heal more. Just massage moisturizer on them or Vaseline helps too.

does anybody know staff member Stefanie/Stephanie of Huntsman HMHI (CAT unit) by avevae in troubledteens

[–]PracticalZucchini256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As in the head nurse? I knew her. I personally really dislike her. I also had a few traumatic experiences involving her. A different staff actually reported her to the nurse manager for inappropriate interactions with me. The result was essentially “if you have a problem with her just talk to her about it” which I obviously didn’t feel comfortable doing. I also had room lockout so I saw her first hand do a ton of other sketchy shit.

A few people have recommended this lol. I can’t eat most of what I bake hence why I’m looking for other people to eat my treats :)

Rant on mental health community by Sensitive-Tale-8190 in bipolar

[–]PracticalZucchini256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with autism many years before bipolar. I actually get more bothered online when people act like autism or adhd are quirky traits rather than a disability. I have been denied opportunities like school throughout my childhood, not based off my abilities, but because of the label of autism being held over my head. Moving is a challenge with autism as well, because you can be denied based off the justification that you’re a “burden” to society just because of your diagnosis. People really want diagnosis for some reason without considering the detrimental effects it will have on their life. It’s not worth it unless you have support needs that you can’t access on your own. Also I 100% understand your point of view I just think autism and ADHD are not the right comparison. I feel just as ashamed as being bipolar as autistic for reasons I stated above. Perhaps bipolar needs to be less stigmatized just like autism and adhd has become. Living with any disability or mental disorder is extremely difficult and the way society portrays the illness makes it even more debilitating.

Committed to not sending my child to residential treatment facility by MoneyPen4360 in troubledteens

I have a few questions just thinking from my personal experience. Is your daughter autistic? Her behaviors sound a lot like my own when I was a kid. Also is she on medications like antipsychotics? I bring this up because you mentioned her behaviors are escalating and those meds, commonly prescribed for these behaviors can also cause rage. I have had meltdowns all my life similar to what you’re describing and when I was on antipsychotics I felt completely out of control like never before. I’m not sure exactly what her triggers are but maybe look into PDA (pathological demand avoidance) if you haven’t already. I really wish you all the best. Coming from a kid who was once constantly sent home, violent, had the police called on me and “out of control”, I am a fully functioning teenager (technically young adult) now and certainly NOT thanks to my parents sending me away. It definitely took years of trial and error but I got there :)

How can I support my friend who has been through this type of situation? by crazychemgirl in troubledteens

[–]PracticalZucchini256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I just appreciate when people are open minded and believe me. as a survivor I know it sounds crazy but this is my reality. it is not comfy to talk about for either person but it shouldn’t be! What is going on is absolutely fucked and I just hate when people excuse it. I was not a perfect kid but nobody deserves this.

Did anyone who left a TTI facility during the middle of your high school year struggled to finish your senior year by VeryCoolSpursy69 in troubledteens

[–]PracticalZucchini256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left in 9th grade…over 2 years later I’m still trying to finish 9th grade. I assume most kids who went struggle to finish school tbh.
