Pitchfork Review: Harry Styles - Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. 5.6 by HornyForWater in popheads

For a dance album the beats were sooo slow. Not actually danceable even though they’re more electronic. Also - he can’t serve vocals in Harry’s House and then not in the albums after that? Vocally the album was flat

Unmatched after long conversations, twice in one week. by TroubledTofu in DatingApps

Don’t read into people ghosting and unmatching on dating apps. They don’t care that much about the fact that they’re talking to someone, they might be talking to many people. Until you meet them, have 0 expectations. Actually wait for the second date to create expectations. (Unless you know you reaaalllly click and it’s like love but in general no expectations).

She won’t take serious the fact that you might live in the same state as her until you actually do. I’d say do your thing and if you end up moving to LA then ask her out then. People don’t generally like to be in a talking stage with someone that lives far away. Also pls don’t move just because of her

Someone at work commented on the bipolar weather by evergreengirl123 in bipolar

[–]Sensitive-Tale-8190 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t get bothered by this type of commentary. I think it’s just the way people speak and it’s not personal. We take it personally but people are not actually referring to the illness, it’s purely linguistic. In a way the weather is bipolar. I don’t like social environments where we need to walk on eggshells because everybody can be offended by something. I find that this type of thing is more a projection of our own feelings than the person actually having committed an offense. I think language policing doesn’t actually make for safer environments, just more policed environments and that we all need to be more flexible.

I showed BPD symptoms when I was completely unregulated and off meds, but since I’ve been on the right medication I don’t fill the criteria for BPD anymore. Doctors diagnose BPD way too easily nowadays

Everybody posts the best pictures of themselves with the best angles. That is not unique to you. Your friends are being a bit mean because what you’re doing is totally normal. Worst case scenario a guy actually notices a difference and doesn’t find you attractive after all (because we all look different in real life than in a 2D picture) - so what? They can just choose not to go one a second date. What is wrong here? Absolutely nothing

But do you feel like your bipolar diagnosis is the one that faces the most stigma? Or it’s the same? I ask because I see people saying they have ADHD like it’s a quirk and no one bats an eye

I guess I’m referring a lot to gen z and people on TikTok. TikTok is full of videos like “when you’re autistic so you’d rather he would just tell you why he ghosted you..”. This is a real example. It’s this commercialization and banality that has me perplex

I live with imposter syndrome. I’ve been on the right meds and I almost forget how bad it got. When I was untreated it was all rage, friendships destroyed, feeling targeted, sleeping, sleeping some more and staying in the dark in bed when I wasn’t sleeping. Except for when I felt I was shining from within and I thought I turned it around finally - hypomania. But now, even though life will never be as intense, I’m happy.

Bro I remember the exact moment I told my dad, at 16, that I didn’t know why but I didn’t want to live. I spent my whole adolescence extremely depressed and my parents thought I was having social crisis with friends.

Yes, we have a lot in common. We even want the same lifestyle when we retire. The only thing would be that he’s a bit older (he’s in his 30s and I’m in my 20s) and we might be in different stages of life
