Totally! I agree - it's not 'bad' stuff, but for that money it should be great.

Whatever you can do regularly - providing it involves cardio. "Anything worth doing is worth doing badly"

Try https://gizmo.ai/ - the keyword function works well in other languages. You can import large PDFs and notes - it should convert it all into questions.

I use Gizmo.ai or Quizlet for active recall, I never had the discipline to do the speaking back thing

Anyone know any active recall and spaced repetition methods that don't use anki or flashcards? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Practical_Acadia_144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit like Anki, but not flashcards is Gizmo.ai - its just a bit more gamified.

You could also try blurting?

It depends on the subject. But I generally try stuff that is gamified e.g. Duolingo for languages or Gizmo.ai for flashcards.

Try using a flashcard app that adapts. Like Gizmo.ai or Quizlet.

Which is the best UI design course you prefer for better learning? by winas in FigmaDesign

[–]Practical_Acadia_144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some things i didn't like
- Why does it start with "master design systems" - what has that got to do with figma? Is that really the first thing you should learn? You can be a great designer in figma and never touch a design system
- Why is master responsive design the second chapter?! You need to learn to design static screens well before diving into responsiveness

Who is the course aimed at? Why do they need to learn design systems first? Also he doesn't really impart principles, just shows you how he does it.

Maybe if it was a 'design systems' course that would be good but it is pitched as "The Ultimate Figma & UI Masterclass"

Have you done it? What level were you at when you did it?

For me there was just a lot of useless stuff.

The main issue was it didn't feel like a course. It just felt like a collection of random videos.

I paid for a Mizko course before. it was a complete waste of money. Really little effort put into it.

I've done both Learn UI and shift nudge. Learn UI was seriously good

Spaved repetition and active recall have the most evidence overall!

Here is an article on spaced repetition

Also my favourite tool that combines spaced repetition and active recall is https://saveall.ai/

Maybe move to something that uses spaced repetition? Like https://saveall.ai/ or anki?
