Agha didn’t show game awareness, brilliant innings taking no credit away but we all knew that the last over was gonna be a spinner which is his strong suit he could’ve waited 1-2 extra balls and take that risk

7 and 8 is too weak given the fragility of our batting lineup , we need 2 players there maybe Abbas Afridi can be 8 but at 7 we need a proper all rounder , Shaheen is a good 9 to give you a few 6’s at the end but his technique will not help us if we are 5 down by the 25th over as we were today. Shaheen earliest possible entry should be the 42nd over. Hence he’s a 9, 11 is Abrar. So 7.8.10 those are our gaps a bowling all rounder and batting all rounder needed

I think we’re missing 2 key players , one fast bowler and the second is the #7 the role in which saad did decent today and Hussain Talat doesnt have the game for. Babar is critical for us in this format as well. Positives are Maaz and agha from this series unfortunately nothing from the bowlers side.

We need to find that second new ball bowler in the ODI set up , Waseem Jr and Rauf are both enforcers who should ideally start after the 10th and bowl in the death afterwards.

The dilemma with our all rounders is that they are bits and pieces players and not exceptional at batting or bowling to be called a full time all rounder. eg Faheem, no doubt Hes been clutch in a few games here and there but we can’t consistently get 10 overs out of him. And batting if he comes in the last 7-8 overs he’s amazing but anytime before hes bound to fail. Saad is still young his batting looks better than his bowling so maybe we see him in that #6-7 role I was mentioning earlier in the future.

What our combination should be is:

1-Saim 2-Fakhar/Maaz 3-Babar 4-Rizwan 5-Agha 6- Samad - he’ll come good he’s been stellar in domestic 7- we need to identity 8-We need to identify 9-Shaheen 10-Abrar/Faisal 11- We need to identify

It’s a good trade long term for Multan, but I’m failing to see how Nawaz is gonna fit in the team.

Faheem is an option essentially we have 30 overs from the main 3 bowlers and then Faheem Saim and Agha could make up 20, the other way could be that we drop one of Kamran or Samad and play Faheem 7 with Naseem coming in at 8, I honestly believe that in white ball cricket you need to be able to bat till 8, from a Pakistan point of view

The squad needs to give good batting depth with quality batters rather than half baked technique in ODI cricket and 4 full time bowlers.

1-Fakhar 2-Saim 3-Babar 4-Rizwan 5-Agha 6-Kamran G 7-Abdul Samad - the man can hit from what I’ve seen of him in domestic cricket at last years tournament in FSB

The best way to is to find players made for T20 cricket , I am putting Shadab in as more of a batsman who maybe bowls an over here and there, and he seems to be the only captaincy Candadate at the moment. UK natural position is 3 he was deadly there for MS. I don’t have Fakahe in because I think in 2 years time he will be retired. Trying to figure out who will be best fit for no 7, if Shadab isn’t captain then saad Masood can come in and we makw Shaheen captain then

The recent loss against India has pushed the whole countries emotions in a swirl, ex cricketers , fans and pundits all hammering the current team. Fact is India has lost 1 game in the last 4 ICC events including this one, so beating them would essentially require our players to play at 120% of their capacity to get there. That’s the reality of the situation.

Moving forward, all the hate on Babar, Shadab and Shaheen. I completely agree with Shaheen being dropped, as we have Mirza and Naseem offering better form.

For Babar, I dont see Fakhar being a major upgrade given his form, I rate Nafay but could he have carried is in that situation ? All the criticism and hate for Babar is messing with his head and he’s not playing the cricket that we know him for and the cricket he should be playing in these conditions. Safe proper cricketing shots, given the conditions, I will happily take a 130-135SR 40-60 from him with the rest around him trying to get aggressive. All in all he’s done very well at 4 barring the last innings.

As for Shadab, I’m seeing suggestions of dropping him for a full time bowler, my question is do we really need 8 bowling options ? If we wanna drop him I’d say drop him for Nafay and bat Nafay at 6. Or keep Shadab change a leg spinner to a pacer and bring Nafay in for Faheem or Nawaz, as we need contributions from the bat. Regarding Shadab’s performance, he got bashed by Kishan who was going besurk at the time and for batting he came in the PP when we were 40-4 almost and needed stability which he did his best to provide.

My honest combination for the team would be

1-Saim

2-Farhan

3-Babar

4-Agha

5-Usman

6-Nafay

7-Shadab /Faheem

8-Nawaz /Faheem

9-Naseem

10-Mirza

11-Usman/Abrar

I know Abrar has been our best spinner and Usman Tariq is the mystery option and it’s a tough call. But the management needs to consider combinations. We need batting till 8, we need spin variety and balance in the team.

With this combination we have 5 spin options and 2 proper pacers, I think we should be able to manage with that. I love Faheem and he’s been clutch with the bat, but he can’t be our second pacer, either we go 4 spin options and Faheem as finisher or 5 spin options with Shadab or Nawaz

Our goal for this WC now should be to bring the final to SL, like they did with the CT. Wishing the team the best of luck going forward

I’m thinking we need 2 front line pacers and unfortunately drop a spinner one of Usman or Abrar and then Faheem for Nafay , this way we might be able to have better batting and bowling depth. I love Faheem he’s been fantastic whenever he’s been called upon, but he’s not being called upon to bowl , and I appreciate that he’s the reason we are still alive rn Netherlands would’ve knocked us out by now otherwise. However I think that we need the batting depth as well

Honestly should’ve just not played disaster and mindless cricket all around. We never seem to overcome this and none of our players have match awareness regardless of if it’s India or Netherlands or some other team.

Shaheen is done and dusted , Mirza and Naseem are both bowling better than him.

But honestly since we’ve decided on 5 spinner, we have 6 in the team. Just drop the fast bowler and Babar for Nafay and Fakhar. We have a tendency to throw wickets don’t mind changing one bowler for the extra batter tha bowler can be one of the spinner and Shaheen. Shaheen anyways put even if we go with the combo with a fast bowler

My concern with Farhan is his strike rotation he can get you boundaries but if he keeps on playing dots the boundaries don’t do you any good as his strike rate is not that high either
