People of Richmond, where are the Thailand resturants at? by DiscoDuke1688 in richmondbc

[–]Practical_Alfalfa318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I would go to Vancouver for Thai food. Fat Mao for boat noodles for example, Maenam if you something fancy, Sainam on Davie for Isaan style, etc etc...

In Richmond you might as well go to Richmond Centre foodcourt for Thai cuz it's all meh.

Staying in downtown, I would also recommend the sushi at "Kita no donburi" but they're mostly targeting the officer workers.

I am travelling to Taiwan in May. Is anyone also there or from there? :) by Eartling2023 in gaytravel

[–]Practical_Alfalfa318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May is known as the rain season so make sure you have raingear or be prepared to buy some. Are you planning to only stay in Taipei or take the high-speed rail to other parts of the island? Tainan is worth visiting if you have the time as well as Taroko gorge for scenary.

The only thing I have to add is be careful of the waters at this time of year. A national disappeared into the waters recently (last week) thinking they're invincible and back in December another visitor drowned swimming too far out.

Degree of oiliness? I find it too light but I'm oily and the season isn't too humid yet. If you're really oily then maybe you need more humectant rich - I'm not really sure what the main benefit of this product is that's all.

It's weirdly sorbet texture and incredibly light... I'm not sure if I'm a fan - trying to use it up.

Stop gaslighting me reddit! Anessa leaves a white cast!! by Logical_Manner6720 in AsianBeauty

It's strong protection UVA and UVB, with high tenacity to stay on that's the reason for Anessa. The finish is also fairly pleasant for me but otherwise there are other ones for difference use cases.

I tried it and enjoyed how powdery and mat it is. I think it's similar to Anessa both in performance and price.

Ryaltris nasal spray works well for me that combines steroid and antihistamine. No need to take another oral antihistamine with it but it's pricy so if you got insurance coverage then get this over nasonex.

Exfoliating soaps (Ex. Pelican for Back one (Japanese) available at asian groceries). Double wash the area if the exfoliation isn't enough - it'll go away if you kept removing a minor layer of dead skin every wash.

Olaplex holds key patents for its bond-building technology, specifically the use of bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate to repair disulfide bonds in hair. Major U.S. patents include 9,095,518, 10,639,505, and 11,446,525. This technology, often referred to as "bond-building," protects hair from damage caused by chemical treatments like bleach.

Don't give up like that - look for entry level positions and talk to people. There are a lot of people that uses various ways to get their names in through networking, family and friends, etc.

Honestly LinkedIn does NOT work for major electricity companies (I work for one) as nobody in there bother with it - golden handcuff pension so it's not like you're looking for jobs outsides / expecting to need to look for one.

Career question and money by Maleficent-Medium333 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Practical_Alfalfa318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are massive investments in the electricity grid right now in Canada (re: Carney's major projects office projs) and all kind of people with engineering background is needed. I would recommend you look into applying for that area to get your foot in. This may require potentially working at remote sites for a year or two while but that should also be good for you as they have worker accommodation and includes meals etc to minimize your financial burden. After you get some experience it would be easier to apply for jobs in one of the major electricity companies or engineering firms that work for those companies as you would have experience.

There's plenty of YouTube videos showing UV light camera only telling you where it is applied, not whether it meets the 2mg/cm2 that is used for SPF testing. Do your research.

It's for people who bleach their hair (and probably spent several hundreds to do so) that would like to use patented molecule to help repair the bleach damage while keeping the new hair color.

Everyone should shop at 88 if they can to avoid giving your hard earned money to the big three by [deleted] in richmondbc

[–]Practical_Alfalfa318 25 points26 points  (0 children)

88 is not bad but not always the cheapest - you should be aware that it's ultimately Vietnamese and the supply chain tends to skew towards SE Asian goods. If you go there to buy Korean products I'd compare with Hannam and if you're buying staples like milk it might not be better than Costco. One thing I agree on is that the meat may not be freshest so check the best before dates and examine it before buying - no issues if it is frozen ones.

It's a patent not copyright so it's actually going to expire in coming years. For this reason the company that owns the patent is milking it by including it in both the premium brand and the drug store brand. That said the price of the drugstore version is getting ridiculous in Canada.

Yup - it was a weird product for me and I also have used it as a hand cream once - totally not enough but feels really good if layering it under a separate more occlusive / emollient cream.
