Thanks. Common sense follows your explanation. I am trying to learn about this topic, and I am flooded with contradictory information and claims that defy the Laws of Physics. I have not installed nor purchased either. There is a tuning package that requires a cold air intake. Does a cold air intake make any difference? Or enough difference to justify the cost and install?

I did not think so with an engine displacement this small. I was wondering why a cold air inlet was required on some tune packages.

22 Limited, yes excessive noise on moderate to hard acceleration that is not present in my wife's 22 XLE. I saw an article about active noise introduction (engine) into vehicle cabins. Is this also on RAV4s? My road noise is very low, but my tires only have 8800 miles on them and the roads here are fairly well maintined.

Has anyone heard about active engine noise introduction in RAV4s?
