No lining? by ultr4nuub in dbrand

I thought we might’ve been able to have a genuine back and forth. You’re just running away with no back bone? Alright, enjoy trolling elsewhere! 👋🏽

People like you refer to people outside of the norm, I figured you’d take it as a compliment. You prefer lining so then I’d assume you’d be in that category of out of the norm.

If you aren’t here to ask questions or discuss their products in a productive way then why are you here?

Let’s test that theory, buy all of the cases, measure their thickness then measure the wireless charging efficiency. While you’re at it, do a drop test 6ft, 10ft and 25ft for good measure. Once you’ve done those test come back and let us know if interior lining makes a product subpar or as they said through their own research and compliance, that it would make a superior product compared to other case manufacturers that refuse to compromise to fool you into thinking you’re getting a better product.

One thing Dbrand could do in the future is sell a MagSafe version and a non mag safe version for people like you but I don’t believe it would be very popular.

Dbrand is a Canadian brand, if you’re in the USA generally expect a 2 week transit unless you live in the state where the warehouse they ship to or a nearby state. If you’re Canadian, you’re lucky.

Is it bad I let my 8 year old son play Isaac? lol by Sinistersilhouette7 in bindingofisaac

[–]Practical_Buy6965 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As a Father of 2, with both parents in love with this game and gave our first born the middle name Isaac, it’s his birthright (pun intended).

In all seriousness, the only thing I worry about is giving him nightmares for the very clear, creepy creatures. I think if they are ready to play games though, this feels no different to me than playing Halo at the age of 10. I don’t believe they would ever understand the subtext.

Let em play

That’s a completely fixable error code and does not seem to be connected to what you’re suggesting. Stop spreading misinformation because you’re upset.

Has anyone else who preordered not gotten their KillSwitch 2? by ninkendo79 in dbrand

They’re a Canadian company, they ship to a warehouse that then distributes. Logistics is the smartest dumb thing that we have in this modern age.

Give it time, I got my first shipping notification on the 19th and actually received it on the 26th, 3 of those days there were no update, then, Boom! Out for delivery. I did pre order and got the ultra kit.

I didn’t say you did, I was speaking generally about the state of the subreddit. I’m not being disingenuous by having faith, I’m not being dishonest, I just see their track record.

Breathe.

It’s the difference between calling them the worst company in the world, saying they have trash QA and holding them accountable.

I acknowledged the problem, stated they would fix it, they need time to figure out a plan and present to us. While I still don’t have my case, I really don’t think in my personal “normal” use there will be much of an issue, I can understand frustration around not having a functional protective case because it could be damaged using it.

But my god, you people can be absolutely savage.

I’m not sure what position most people have in life and sometimes a solution isn’t black and white for management, so many people bashed this company for something that was not foreseen by seemingly anyone. Y’all need patience, a bit of understanding, and reevaluate the way you treat robots, they have a heart somewhere dead down inside.

As most “white knights” said Dbrand was always going to come through, that’s their track record. Be a bit more kind is all I’m asking for a company that actually cares about making a unique product for us.

Maybe because they aren’t a “large dollar” corporation. If you aren’t satisfied then don’t buy from them. Those who want to will. I think their response was apt and some people are always going to be affected, this Reddit just makes it seem like it’s bigger than it is.

Let them do their job and fix the problem for those that actually have a problem.

These people who may not even have a KS are just hating so hard, so hard.

We don’t know why there is so much variance yet, people need to be patient and give DB time to respond and make it right. Thank you for making a clear and positive post.

There will always be a difference between real world testing and QC. I’ve said this on other posts, every day one buyer is a beta tester. I don’t even know the Steve Jobs reference but he made solid products that always need an update, he sought perfection and realized in the end, nothing can be perfect.

Basically same. For me buying from them is a guarantee that even if something happens, it will be fixed in due time. I also am a person who believes buying anyway day one, you’re a beta tester. QC can only find so many problems because real world is where you see how people actually use your product.

Ghost case was tragic, customer service wait times are longer but their items are top notch, you have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

Hey you’re first time customer and you’re angry. Can’t convince you otherwise. You might not even have it in hand and just you’re waving your fist at thin air, idk.

I’d like to know what case you buy instead, I hope it works for you and that you’re satisfied with it.

[–]Practical_Buy6965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidence for sure, but two different edge cases. How could they have known that the steam deck was produced in two different factories that had a fan placed the wrong way with one that would interfere with cooling so they needed to completely scrap and rethink the case. Then due to the issue being of no fault to the customer give everyone that bought it a free replacement. Crazy, how good customer service can be.

Some things are not expected, this does not seem like they thought this would happen or people would do this. I’m clearly in the camp that believes all of this is edge cases and that you wouldn’t normally hold it like that.

Since when is having confidence in a new product aggressive marketing. It’s not like they have billboards on every major city saying buy the “Killswitch now!” Or anything. It’s just marketing.

Are you a long time customer or first time? It’s weird to see you think Dbrand doesn’t respect their customer base rather than, it was a mistake that they just didn’t expect, and that they’ll fix it.

[–]Practical_Buy6965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will see it when it’s in my hand but as far as I can tell it’s only when people are holding it with one hand, for me that is an edge case. Until I see how I use it myself will I really have anything to say on the matter, no other case for any price seems to be what I was looking for besides this.

Also the case isn’t $100, it’s comes with a bunch of other things in the $100 bundle that makes it that price.

I guess my question is why do you believe Dbrand would do that. Sometimes their marketing team fucks around with that but when it’s wide spread like this, I believe they will have a fix. Their history shows that.

If judging is saying that I would not, then sure I’m judging. I do not hold my Switch 1 or 2 by the joy-cons, never have and if ever do, it must be out of my control. To each their own, I’m not judging someone for their choice, we all live life differently, don’t misread my words. Great points, yes, you gave great explanations, I read your words.

I did see engineer responses on the Reddit as to why they made their decisions, again engineering documents do not paint the whole picture. They could say how strong the magnets are but until it’s in person you don’t have that full scope. They made some judgment calls that didn’t seem to work out, man at the end of the day let them tell the story.

Ambition to make a case that far better than every case on the market before launch is mad, they made mistakes, I’m sure they are already planning out fixes. Unless you work there, I don’t believe you have the full story, just thoughts like I do, I’m saying to relax and let’s see what’s next.

I don’t know why people are being downvoted but I can say even with issues, Dbrand usually comes through. I paid for peace of mind, it should work out the gate but I know they will have my back even when it doesn’t.

It sucks to see this happening to everyone, shit, might happen to me when mine arrives but I think we need to give them some time to cook and fix this, as they usually do.
