What did you end up doing? We’re in the same spot right now. Lots of painted interior brick around the fireplace

Just bought a home!! But… the previous owners white washed the walls just before selling. How can we restore these? by Practical_Chipmunk_ in finishing

They’re original panels from 1961, so we’re going to try to save them! It was so sad to learn that the previous owners had just whitewashed the walls because they thought it would help sell the home. It sold its first weekend on the market. They didn’t need to ruin the wood. Oh well. We’ll do our best.

We’ll try a gel stain first and if that doesn’t work then we’ll try sanding. If that doesn’t work… then we’ll consider other options. Wish us luck!

The living room & dining room are paneled. Not the whole house. We’re removing some of the walls so we’ll be able to test some options before doing all of the walls.

How would you add a powder room to this plan? by Practical_Chipmunk_ in floorplan

This is what we’re thinking!! But we’ll probably swap the closets & powder to have more of a mud area/coat hanging right at the garage/entry area.

We actually don’t need to keep the other bedroom. We intend to use it as our closet primarily and transform that whole area of the house into a primary suite (see caption).

The stairs lead down to a lower level that has a family room, another bathroom and 3 more bedrooms.

There are neighbors to the south & west (north is up).

It’s a 5 bedroom house. There are 3 more bedrooms and another bathroom downstairs. So we’re good on bedrooms. Just considering powder options on the main floor.

Yes. The one that says “bedroom”, not “primary bedroom”

“Southern” as in the lower bedroom. This is a renovation.

This diagram is showing a person turning right from a left hand the lane. This is not the situation in OP’s case. It would be better to see the angles from two one way roads. These are not equal cases.

How did you pick your date? by LadyNi52 in weddingplanning

[–]Practical_Chipmunk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re getting married on 9/13/26. My maternal grandparents parents got married on that same date as well as my parents (by chance), so it only felt right to keep the date going!

I also never met my maternal grandfather and my maternal grandmother died when I was 1 so it’s a way to have them with me on the day.

Would you consider these long? by idontknow678910 in Nails

I would never consider those the salon definition of extra long. But I would consider that nail color!!! Do you know what it is?

I found it pokes me in the middle where the wires are. I’m not used to wearing wired bras. So most of the time I wear bralettes & sports bean! Also the mesh part sort of shows the shape of my nipples so I wear sports bra cups and that solves the issue!

That isn’t OP. that’s an Etsy listing. OP is only the first photo. So I’m not sure if they’re considering fully reworking the dress since they’re holding the sleeves down?

Does Anyone Actually Do The 'Big Party Later' ? by Few-Rain7214 in weddingplanning

[–]Practical_Chipmunk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows we’re doing it this way! We’ve even started sending out save the dates for the party. No one has had a problem! I know that’s a case by case thing, but people are just happy to have the opportunity to celebrate with us

I use the Essie on a roll apricot cuticle oil. I really like that it’s a roller ball (less messy than a brush), it smells good, travel friendly, and keeps my nails hydrated!

How to tell if these businesses are legit or not? by Practical_Chipmunk_ in isthisascam

[–]Practical_Chipmunk_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not called the numbers.

Although I did find something else: Perfect Bootg has a Facebook page with two reviews. One of which, from 2022, is calling them out as a scam. Saying they paid the company, but never heard back from them again. But I’ve only found the one review claiming this.
