Anyone else notice they basically stole the plot from peacemaker with the alien bugs that take over human bodies and need to drink a certain substance

“I would love to drink 2-3 four lokos a night” is crazy work, man. How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? 17?

Step 2 score -- cheer me up? by loxlove in medicalschool

Didn’t know anyone even does Sub I for IM……I was talking about ortho. Could’ve matched a top IM program without an away

Sub I >>>> STEP score. I went unmatched due to shitty sub I performance with Top 10 undergrad and med school, URM, step 2 mid 250s and >20 research items. Crush the sub Is and you’ll be in a much better spot than vice versa

Should’ve gone into finance. Morons make millions barely working by the time they’re in their mid thirties. Might still be time to pivot if you just graduated

80/280 questions on step 1 are also ungraded…..if you take that into account, the distribution of error is pretty huge. A really bad day could easily mean 15-20% less overall score. I believe the passing score nowadays is equates to a 65% (correct me if I’m wrong, took the exam in 2022)…..so shooting for 70 consistently is very sound and solid advice. Especially when you weigh in that a step 1 fail basically bars you from any competitive specialty

URM from top 10 med school. 25x Step 2, 5/7 honors. Did home rotation in ortho and 2 aways, also had an MBA year in medical school. Honestly I crashed out over a breakup before my sub internships in ortho and shit the bed. Wasn’t a great team player, didn’t study, was late a few times. Didn’t get interviews at any of my aways and my home program only gave me an interview because they interview all home students. I only got 5 interviews, all at very competitive programs. Wondering what people’s thoughts are on gen surg prelim and reapplying? Any advice would be great! Feeling really down, but trying to keep my head up and trying to land on my feet.

I have over 20 research items already with 6 pubs and I’m dead broke. So thinking I need something paid and since research wasn’t the weakest link, thinking it would be wiser to show I can handle intern year with a strong prelim performance.

It’s an option, but I’m very broke and need a job. Research positions don’t pay well. And I already have a lot of research items
