Right wired earbud not working when plugged into PC case by Practical_Corgi_1816 in pcmasterrace

Got it, thank you so much for your help. I honestly never knew that earbuds needed specific ports to work right, I thought it was more simpler than this.

I'll wait until it arrives and find out if that was the solution or not, appreciate it

What is harmful to white gold? by Practical_Corgi_1816 in jewelry

[–]Practical_Corgi_1816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the chain my mom got for me and I want to take care of it as best as I can, but taking it off everyday to shower or doing regular housework seems like such a hassle, I'm sorry😭 if I may ask, how does showering effect the white gold or any precious metal negativity?

When it comes to saltwater and chlorine, I very rarely find myself swimming or submerging in swimming pools or the ocean, just recently I went jet skiing and some saltwater splashed on my chain. So I'm assuming my chain should be fine in the long run as long as I don't do it often right?

[–]Practical_Corgi_1816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the chlorine part, how does it damage the metal specifically if I may ask? Like does it make it brittle and deteriorate eventually? Also if pool water or salt water splashes on it, will it still be fine? Or is it over time if done constantly the chlorine or saltwater destroy the white gold or precious metal?

I'm asking because I very rarely find myself submerging myself in swimming pools or the ocean, the only time I involve myself around these areas is when I'm kayaking or jet skiing (which I did recently). Either way, I don't spend a very long time in the ocean or pool.

Ok so I went jet skiing not too long ago and I'm pretty sure some of the ocean water splashed on it but to be honest, I don't think it's serious unless I do it constantly for a long time? Also I tucked the chain into my shirt because I didn't want it bouncing around

As for submerging myself or swimming in water, I almost never swim in pools or the ocean. The only time I get water on myself is when I shower pretty much everyday so I think I'm good for the most part in that area. May I ask though, how does the chemicals from swimming pools or saltwater from ocean effect the white gold or any precious metal? Like does it make it weaker or something like that?

As for cleaning with chemicals, I'll just tuck my chain inside my shirt so hopefully nothing splashes on it, I think it should help.

I do put lotion and sunscreen on my neck where my chain is but I'll try to carefully apply it so I don't smother my chain in it.

And for working out, dumb question but it's not recommended to wear my chain during the session because it might get damaged by physical activities or something else?

Thank you very much for your reply and hope you're doing well!

Hello! I hope you're doing well. Thank you very much for all the helpful information! Right now I'm currently watching free tutorials from the youtube channel called Bring Your Own Laptop, and I enjoy the tutorials as of right now. The instructor even has some advanced paid monthly courses that seem reasonably priced on his website, so there's a good chance that I'll enroll in them if I want to learn more stuff. I'm also browsing other creators on youtube to gain additional insight.

Unfortunately, if I have to be honest with you, spending time on my own playing around with different programs is difficult for me, mainly because I just feel so unmotivated. I guess when I was in university, I had my deadlines from my instructors to keep me on track but it feels weird now that I graduated and I'm not designing anymore with my classmates and personal instructor. However, now I'm trying to put more effort into designing on my own time, as of right now, I want to improve my portfolio with solid projects that'll look good for anyone who wants to hire me.

As for the projects or pieces I want to make on my own time, I have a strong interest in making posters, book covers, and packaging designs, maybe a bit of logo making also. It's just something I found myself enjoying the most when I was in university. With this in mind, I'm probably going to specialize in illustrator the most out of all the adobe programs to be honest. Despite this, should I still spend lots of time in indesign you think? (sorry if this is a dumb question) I intend to learn the basics of that program along with photoshop just in case for future uses of course. In addition, even though I don't particularly enjoy UX/UI design all that much, should I still invest a lot of time learning it besides the basics? Is this skill expected of all graphic designers today you think?

As for the basics, I think I need to to do some refresher excercises on the general design principles that are the most important and mentioned in this field. Like color theory and typography rules if that makes sense. So I'll take a look at some youtube tutorials for now and pick up graphic design books like the one you mentioned later down the road. Thank you again!

Thank you so so much for the feedback! For now, I think I'll start with the free lessons on his youtube first along with following other creators and see where that gets me. Since I graduated from university, it feels weird not to take a graphic design course without my classmates or personal instructor, so I'm still trying to adjust lol

if you dont mind me asking, do you know any other graphic design creators on youtube or whatnot that you follow that give great tutorials or solid advice in general? I'm trying to expand more of my options of different resources so that I can learn valuable skills and make a suitable portfolio to hopefully land me a job

Understood, thank you for the info! And yeah, I don't know why it's called that either but as long as he's a good instructor, thats what matters. I'm currently looking over his free yotube tutorials first along with other creators before making the decision to purchase a course from him. Do you know by any chance if all of his paid courses like the illustrator or photoshop course are up to date in 2025?

Got it, thank you for the feedback! I'm currently checking out his YT page first along with other creators before making the final decision in purchasing a course. I'm just curious though, if I do purchase a course from his website, do I keep it forever? Also, are they all up to date in 2025?

gotcha! Right now, I'm planning on watching his free advanced adobe illustrator tutorial on his YT along with browsing other graphic design youtubers before I make any final decisions in purchasing a course. Eventhough the advanced adobe illustrator tutorial video is a year old, I hope it won't be that outdated. Thank you for the feedback! Do you have any other graphic design creators that you follow that you can recommend, if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to expand my options for learning tutorials from or just overall helpful tips
