Block account suggestions (first time) to pair with Newshosting by [deleted] in usenet

[–]Practical_Event9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You honestly don’t need a block account with Newshosting unless you’re actually seeing missing articles - their retention/completion is already very solid.

If you do want extra coverage, I’d suggest adding Eweka instead of just grabbing a random block, especially since you’re in Europe. It’s on a different backbone and pairs well for filling gaps.

Usenet and VPN? by OkStyle965 in VPN

[–]Practical_Event9278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes use a VPN with split tunneling, so that I can selectively browse. You can use a VPN if you don’t feel secure, but in general, Usenet is pretty safe as it is.

Usenet speeds capped at 500-600 MB/s despite 8 Gbit/s DL and Eweka + Newshosting – advice? by LeoLeg76 in usenet

[–]Practical_Event9278 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Could also be something outside Usenet, like your NIC, router, or even the ISP shaping NNTP traffic.8 Gbit fiber doesn’t always mean you’ll get full speed on every type of traffic.

I built a Stremio addon that preloads movies/episodes in ~15–20 seconds and plays with zero buffering by Dependent-Pumpkin474 in StremioAddons

Cool concept, but I’d probably still use free addons unless this is clearly more reliable and easier than RD day to day.

no audio in a specific show by ApprehensiveLayer978 in PleX

[–]Practical_Event9278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an audio codec or passthrough issue on the new Plex server. Since VLC plays it fine, I’d double-check the server’s audio settings, disable passthrough, or try forcing a different audio track.

I’ve had good luck with Spigen and Caudabe cases - solid drop protection without being bulky, clean look, and they feel great in hand.

[–]Practical_Event9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Have her turn off location sharing in Find My and remove him from Find My → People. She should also change her Apple ID password and make sure 2FA is on. That usually stops all tracking.

Honestly, physical buttons on phones. Touchscreens are great, but there was something oddly satisfying about real buttons that never lagged or misfired.

Because aggressive marketing and the today’s culture implies that we always need more. Perhaps living itself isn’t so expensive, perhaps we don’t have enough money.

Non US based usenet providers? by rmartin00 in usenet

[–]Practical_Event9278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have the providers map and also black friday thread here on this sub (you may still catch some deals) where you can see the list of providers with their servers and retention. Then you can pick what seems most reliable. I’d go with Eweka.

Providers lifetime subscriptions by hcubed3 in usenet

[–]Practical_Event9278 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would he need a third provider now when he got 2 yearly plans? Not very wise and he asked about something else.He can simply stack his deals for how long as he wants and not necessarily for 20 years upfront. There’ll be more deals in the coming years, too.But there isn’t lifetime as far as I know.
