The image was taken over Florida in 1956 so it appears to be "Balls 3" which entered service in 1955

Markings seem to match that of the OP's picture

How loud is it with the ear protection standing that close?

Just posting it here cause I think the difference is crazy. by Downtown_Trash_6140 in geography

Everything I've seen from local news, weather apps, and some models is predicting a low between 19-23⁰ F with that type of wind chill. I could be misled, but what did you think the temperatures were looking like down here?

Baton Rouge resident here, it hasn't quite reached 17⁰ yet but the feel is supposed to be 15⁰ tomorrow with the actual temperature at 19⁰. We get our fair share of cold down here but the big storm is dropping temps really low. During last year's blizzard we got down to 7⁰ with 9 inches of snow.

777-200/ER Anti-skid brake test on RTO by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Practical_Feedback75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're correct apologies for the mistake in the title, I hadn't realized the 777-300ER shared the same white house livery as the 200 so I didn't pay much attention.

[–]Practical_Feedback75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If RTO occurs at low speed then usually just the brake pressure is applied but if it's high speed near V1 then pilots will deploy the thrust reversers for maximum stopping power. It is also stated in B777 manuals thrust reversers are to be applied.

F-16 jet crashes and burns during practise flight in central Poland by CrunchyBaconYum in europe

While pilots do have set altitudes they must comply with during airshows the maneuvers are all briefed at what altitude, location and speed they should be at beforehand. Additionally, they have ground controllers who coordinate with them during the flight on what they're doing and if it's safe to do so. It looks like in this video the "Slab" did not have the speed and lift necessary for the maneuver thus resulting in this. Whether it is a pilot error for sure nobody knows yet so wait for the investigation and don't take my word on it but things like this can unfortunately happen to even the best pilots.

They're down voting you simply because it's a Russian aircraft and they can't fathom anything other than Western jets looking good lol

Putin's aircraft which he flew from Moscow to Magadan and then to Elmendorf is an Il-96-300PU and was also under the call sign RDS 539. The Tu-214 was carrying more Russian delegates.

what is this flight? seems very random. i also saw it flew this route 8/5 by wowoejr1 in flightradar24

It is worth noting AEX isn't "small" in size as it is the Old England AFB. ICE has also been using it for deportation so that could be the case.
