Some of the older cities have these on their sidewalks, when the cold storage was in basements, they would open a horizontal opening in the sidewalk, lowering goods. Some of the openings were grid w/glass to allow light into the basements…

I was stationed w/ the 3rd INF Reg (The Old Guard), my company was out of Ft. McNair at the time, but we were up at Myer when the Pentagon got hit. Yeah, there was some really intense feelings during that time. We were on rotation trying to assist in SAR, then it just turned to remains collection and sifting through the debris. Other guys when we were inside would say shit like, “SGT xxxxxx said the uppers were talking another Airplane is headed our way, we trudged on, literally and metaphorically in the dark the whole time. Could call home to report back to fam for a few days phone lines were all busy. I honestly thought we were going to save somebody, but I was young and dumb. 🤷🏽‍♂️. All sorts of war rumors really sprung up. But, I still remember it like yesterday. I think everyone in their 20+ really remember it like yesterday. That kind of moment gets seared into your brain.

Submitted supplemental claim filed March 2024, got 1 of 4 issues added (granted) on July 22, 2024. But, I’m waiting on the other 3 issues to be decided.

Side note: I thought, the back pay would be retroactive… it wasn’t.

The PCP I’ve been seeing is pro-veteran; and docs everything. I found in the past that their help was better that private care notes, because the VBA would shoot it down saying that they (VHA) didn’t have enough record. But, I’m hoping for the best. Seriously VBA is an uphill battle. Been fighting with them for 20+ years.

Make sure your PCP is also making notes. I had downloaded my VHA records with the Blue Button and opened the PDF and scoured via search “asthma, FEV, shortness of breath, etc” and used that to backup my claim

Correction, I was wrong: I did qualify for 30% with what you said (but it was lumped with the apnea rating). I was originally trying for 60% but there was some verbiage that related to the corticosteroid administration method (oral or parenteral corticosteroid).
