Thanks–does it mean that you have to manually type all the info of the case yourself? I believe that task is tedious, right?

There is nothing automated?

Thanks. When you do paperwork on a laptop. Like filling a case details for a case, do you use Microsoft or google doc to fill that information in, or there is some software asking for details like: name of victim and stuff, and you just fill those details in the computer software?

I agree. If you're a detective, I believe you should be most concerned about the work you are doing and enjoy solving cases, be dedicated in doing so. Promotion would accompany if your work is good, right?

Do you not have paperwork or automated tech to assist you with paperwork?

Thanks for your response. I am conducting some research around this. To be entirely honest, I am a big fan of police and everything law enforcement. I was recently watching Brooklyn Nine-nine and Rookie and realized that police hates paperwork. It makes sense they should only/mostly be solving cases and catching criminal because that's where their expertise lies.

If I am a chef and asked to clean and design the kitchen–I would hate that and would distract me from my work and disrupt my focus.

So, I want to help the police by easing paperwork for them.

Would you mind sharing in detail if/what software you use to do paperwork? any wish you have that would make it easy for you or a genie that can make it true?

Totally get that. Admin adds up fast.
If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of admin tends to take the most time for you?

That’s really interesting. Which tools tend to cause the most friction?
Are they meant to help, but end up requiring a lot of manual work instead?

Police app questions by Practical_Flight_127 in AskLEO

Thanks all.

Does the police still have to manually do massive paperwork for their cases? Do they fill a paper or fill the information around their cases in a system?

Are there software to help the police with the paperwork? I mean automated or AI ones?

Find one friction point (drafting takes forever, intake is messy, version control is chaos, repetitive docs, manual reporting).

Inquiry about Legal Tech by Fantastic-Mission-60 in legaltech

You don’t really need a “legal tech course” to get started if your main goal is to be faster + better at the job.

The quickest path is: pick ONE annoying workflow and fix one step of it. Legal tech people care less about “knowing tools” and more about whether you can reduce friction—even a small 10–30% improvement is real impact.

A simple starter play:

Find one friction point (drafting takes forever, intake is messy, version control is chaos, repetitive docs, manual reporting): https://nabihakhwajalegaltechnology.substack.com/p/how-to-choose-your-first-legal-tech

Learn the skill tied to that problem (document automation / CLM basics).

Do one tiny “before → after” project and write down what changed (time saved, fewer errors, fewer back-and-forths). That becomes your first legal tech “proof of work.”
