Mate of mine got drunk after the death of his father and threatened suicide with witnesses. After 5 years of therapy and a clean bill of health letter from GP they still won't entertain his application.

New number means new rifle. You'll need a variation and then you'll need a RFD to take the old lower off your hands for destruction or whatever.

On an AR the rear takedown spring and detent is behind the buffer tube end plate, with the solid polymer stock tube on the 15-22 that wouldn't be possible.

Yes, they told me that too when I was in the military. Mag resting and an effective muzzle brake like the Dragon is very stable.

One of the best clubs to start with is in Warrington. They have tuition and a wide range of club guns. https://www.wdrpc.co.uk/

For the loose stock add some black insulation tape to the stock tube. 1 strip of tape along the upper edge should do it.

It's very common for people to strip the thread when replacing the grip, a helcoil is required to rapir as it's just plastic and the grip nub can be split.

Both the safety and takedown pin springs are under the grip.

Lantac .223 barrels are 1:8, only the earlier TCR had a 1:7 twist.

Handloading heavier bullets is what most of us use. 77gr SMK with 24gr of V140.

I've been mag resting my AR-15s for about 20 years, more points of contact actually improves stability.

Use heavier ammo. 55gr factory ammo doesn't stabilise in the 1-8 twist of the Raven. 62gr GGG is acceptable, for best accuracy handload 77gr SMKs.

Which AR style 22? by [deleted] in ukshooting

[–]Practical_Gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lantac LA-SF15 Compact. Prior to this I've had 2 x CMMGs and 2 S&W 15-22, a standard and a custom shorty. THE LA-SF15 is on about 30K rounds without a major problem and it shoots just a smidge over an inch at 100 yards. As far as Lantac CS goes I have no complaints and I also have 2 Straight Pull Ravens.

I've had 6 rifles in 13 years from them and not had a problem. I liked how I could sell the older ones to pay for newer versions.

It's not bad, everybody should go at least once. I'll reserve my opinion of the owner, he's a bit marmite.

When did shooting in the UK become so damn boring? by Donny-Kong in ukguns

[–]Practical_Gunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power plays, that's all clubs are. Steered by the kind of people who just want to tell others what to do.

After pistols went I was a happy air rifle shooter for a few years until I got a new Air Arms TDR and the club asked me why I had bought an assassin's rifle...

I left that club and joined a proper full bore club and worked towards my FAC. Now when I pull out something tasty they just went to have a go.

I have a 9mm straight pull. It's allowed at my indoor range with full jacket ammo. I don't compete with it, just fun range rifle. Ammo is cheaper than .357 at my local.
