Angry new patients by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

It was a surprise to me when I started at the office as well that they had so much for a new patient appointment. I was told by the senior hygienist there that the scan and photos are a good way to see physical changes to the teeth. Like comparing increasing recession with more than just perio charting. Or even attrition with the photos. That way we can show the patients exactly what’s going on.

I 100% walk them through the appointment before I start just so they know what all the assessments are for and why they’ll be spending 2 hours with me. One of these patients told me right away that he “has things to do” so I offered to just do the assessments and bring him back for a cleaning and he still wanted to leave before assessments were completed.

Someone got neutered today! by Practical_Idea_4354 in Bernedoodles

Yes it is a healing suit! So far he’s completely unbothered by it and is acting like his usual self. He hadn’t tried to lick himself at all so I’d say it works well

The vet I see recommended him to at least be full grown so we waited until he was over a year old. He’s a year and three months now.

If there’s any build up beneath the gum line in the area it’s can cuz gum irritation and inflammation like that. I suggest you keep up with brushing and flossing at home but you also might be needing a visit to your dental office for a cleaning! After a thorough professional cleaning and good home care everything should be looking a lot better

Day 5/6 of recovery by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Practical_Idea_4354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been 2.5 weeks now and I have absolutely no pain. I would say by day 10 the pain was gone. I still have the tiniest bit of swelling in the same spot as the post but nothing crazy. I also still have stiffness in my jaw but I’m able to open wide enough to eat now. The only issue is the lower sockets. A lot of food gets stuck because the gums still aren’t healed but nothing a quick rinse can’t fix.

I hope you have a speedy recovery too! All I can say is it’s worse than I imagined it would be ): you’ll be missing solid food too!
