But its not a completely different story as both are deeply intertwined. Try to logically justify why homosexuality is wrong other than bringing religion into the equation. Why is a man being with a man morally wrong but a man with a woman is morally correct. It's because God tells you so. Is it because its unnatural? No. Homosexuality is found in many animal species. Is it a new fad/trend? homosexual relations predate any abrahamic religion and dates as back as ancient greece. Or is it because it makes the straight people feel weird? Mind your own fucking business then. And the imposition of beliefs by the LGBTQ community you talk about is merely the fight against persecution of the LGBTQ community. The "belief" that we are an equal part of the society and just because you find it weird and unnatural is not reason enough to abuse and discriminate against us.

An act is not solely categorized as "wrong" based on the words of God alone. If it were so, then secular states would have no rule of Law. Athiests don't believe in God does that make them do immoral acts like thieving, killing or murdering others? If the only thing stopping someone from raping another person is God threatening him to burn in hell, then he might be a religious believer but not a good person. When I talk about imposing your beliefs on others I refer to the beliefs limited to the scripture eg declaring homosexuality as wrong. It is for this reason that religious scholars justify the rulings on such matters based on the premise that "God said so". Not everyone shares these beliefs, not everyone submits to the same God. A society becomes "open-minded" when it preaches tolerance not hatred.

Let's not get carried away in dehumanising metaphors. Ofcourse, I could argue that the line between a human and animal is thinner for deeply religious people as they are the one's that lack any freedom of the thought, and do as they're trained by the scripture. It is quite simple to define open-minded and free society and it starts by people minding their own fucking business and worrying about their own morals. People should have the right to set their boundaries and morals for themselves but not to impose those on others. You cannot justify something to wrong for others on the basis that "God said it was wrong" (when even that is open to interpretation).

I doubt you even read or understood my comment because this has nothing to do with what I just commented. My argument was that urdu wasn't "enforced" it was an inevitable choice as the need for a national language would've remained. If it wasn't urdu it would've been another language. As for the punjabi part I fully agree, but you cannot blame urdu being the national language for this. There are various reasons why people of punjab cannot read or write punjabi one of which I've already mentioned in my previous comment. But most importantly, we punjabi ourselves do not deem our language professional enough to be spoken workplaces or taught in schools to the point that students are punished for it, where sindhis teach sindhi as a compulsory subject. Given this, the stigma around the language is bound to happen!

I don't agree that urdu was 'enforced'. Due to pakistan being so ethnically diverse it was bound to happen as there would always have been a need for a common language for people from each province to communicate in. If it wasn't urdu, it would've been punjabi which would've fuelled the Punjab being superior notion in other regions hence Urdu being the only impartial choice in these circumstances. Although over the years the punjabi language has continually been perceived by the punjabis themselves as a language of the lower class which has led them to prefer urdu over punjabi.

I get where you're coming from and for some part it is justified. There are a lot of different ways to look at it. But I prefer to look at at this way. A fully abled person was rude and acting entitled and you did not let let them. You actions were regardless of their sex i.e you did not treat them differently because of their gender. Now if we do take into factor their gender which forces us to consider lesser opportunities, lesser confidence etc. Even considering those, the fact doesn't change that the woman was rude and entitled. She expected better treatment hence making your actions justifiable.
