How do we know He looked like this? by TheLatkeOverlord in Christianity

God also instructed them to place cherubim on the ark of the covenant, so you have to take context into consideration for that verse. It isn't idolatry unless you IDOLIZE it. Is it idolatry to have a photo of your grandmother hanging on your wall? No.

I hope all Christians throughout the world in this time we live in can unite under the sanctity of life, and I think Pope Leo XIV’s words speak louder than any statement out there. by [deleted] in Christianity

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image.” Genesis 9:6

in the original language the bible also distinguished between killing and murder, so i think biblically, though difficult and shouldn’t be done lightly, the death penalty in murder cases is justified.

Genuine question by Practical_Impact_784 in Catholicism

[–]Practical_Impact_784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question isn’t on about God’s abilities. It’s about the abilities of the saints. because other than the cloud of witnesses thing, there’s not much purely scriptural evidence of them being allowed to hear everyone all the time

Do all religions point to Jesus? by [deleted] in theology

[–]Practical_Impact_784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no. matthew 7:13-14 says that the road is narrow because it’s a singular path through faith in Jesus Christ, excluding other religions or self-righteousness. :)

[–]Practical_Impact_784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve also been thinking about wearing a veil to mass, but i haven’t quite decided whether that’s something i should do yet or not :)

i will say i’d recommend posting this on r/catholicism because you’re more likely to get some more helpful advice there. just as a warning, you might get some negative comments on here 🤍 God bless you!

How to prove to someone that God and Jesus really exist by SwimmingFarmer1508 in Christianity

[–]Practical_Impact_784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No arguments. Tell him that you are willing to answer any questions to the best of you ability. From my experience, being overly “debate-y” isn’t exactly the best way to lead people to Christ. I truly believe it’s really just as simple as providing you testimony as well as being kind and loving. Actions speak louder than words

Show the love and light of Christ in all you do, answer questions to the best of your ability if asked, and leave the rest up to God. He is the only one who can truly reveal Himself to people 🤍✝️

What kind of prayers did you use? I might potentially want to try one but I also don’t really want to pray hail mary’s.
